I recently attended a seminar relating to “Building & Selling High Performance Green Homes” which was mostly attended by builders. One of the main complaints by the builders was that the real estate agents are not knowledgeable and trained to sell these types of homes. The National Association of Realtors (NAR) offers a three day course along with tests to earn a designation of NAR Green. The NAR’s Green designation provides agent’s cutting edge green real estate education and membership to the Green Resource Council. Currently NAR’s Green Resource (8 comments)

A mortgage company can either be a banker or broker or sometimes combine the two. A Mortgage Banker is a direct lender; it lends you its own money, although it often sells the loan to the secondary market, investors or a wholesale lender. A Mortgage Broker is a middleman who finds a lender who will close the loan. Mortgage brokers do not make the credit decision or issue their own loans. The brokers work with many wholesale lenders who do not deal directly with the public and brokers ten to have working relationships (3 comments)

Where do you go when you want to find out about creating a sustainable and healthy lifestyle? Where do you find local companies and organizations that support being “green”? What about news and events related to the environment? Well I have been busy creating a new website to fill this need here in Connecticut. The site is called Connecticut GreenBoard Co-op and is at www.Ct.GreenBoardCoop.com. The idea is that it will be a community go-to place just like the local bulletin boards for postings, articles, events, links, news, education and information (7 comments)

The answer is Dave’s homemade Veal Ragu served with fresh Pappardelle pasta. Something to feed the group, easy to prepare before hand and delicious left over’s. So without further ado here is the recipe.

I was lucky enough to be included on a tour organized by Southwestern Connecticut Green Building Council (SCTGBC) on the first commercial building in Fairfield County, Ct. to achieve Gold LEED Core & Shell certification. The Class A 150,000 square feet office space was completed in the summer of 2008.
