Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum & Park, Norwalk, Ct. The Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum located in Norwalk, Connecticut was built in 1864. It is a 62 room mansion built by banker-railroad tycoon LeGrand Lockwood. The estate used to reach down to the Norwalk River and from the estate you can see Long Island Sound. In 1941 the estate was sold to the City of Norwalk and designated a public park, in 1971 it was designated a National Historic Landmark. The Lockwood-Mathews Mansion is available for rent for private parties and weddings. The Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum is now open for tours. Tours are hourly, Wednesday (6 comments)
