A Peek at the Beautiful Shropshire Hills of England - 09/23/09 08:45 PM
Since my grandmother died her idyllic old stone house (well cottage really),  in Shropshire has been passed on to my Uncle. I thought I'd put a couple of photos on here to show you the old stone building.

The cottage, built in the early 1800's and sitting in the hillside, originally belonged to the local Farrier. The stables are in the smaller building to the right. The house has 2 ft thick walls, original beams, and an original wooden spiral staircase leading up to 3 small bedrooms. Join us as we walk to support Canadian Autism research, by joining the British Columbia Walk/Run Now for Autism.
My wife, our son and other members of my family have been fundraising and will be walking on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009 from the Nat Bailey Stadium in Vancouver, BC. The Walk/Run starts at 10 a.m. and finishes at 12 noon. The Walk is 3 - 4 km and the run is 5 km.

Property Sales in August Follow Usual Summer Trend September 1, 2009
The number of property sales in the Greater Victoria area slowed during August but sales were again significantly higher than a year ago. Prices, meantime, remained stable with some increase for single family homes. A total of 764 homes and other properties sold in August through the Victoria Real Estate Board’s Multiple Listing Service® (MLS®), down from the 933 sales in July but up 48 per cent compared to the 517 sales in August of last year.

Our 85 year old Blue Bridge is causing heated discussion! At least it goes up and it goes down, which is more than most bridges do these days!
It's a dilemma and one that should only be resolved by a referendum. For more information see the following website:

The 32nd Victoria Classic Boat Festival - Inner Harbour Sept. 4, 5 6. - 09/04/09 11:06 PM

This Labour Day weekend celebrates the 32nd Victoria Classic Boat Festival in our beautiful Inner Harbour. Bordering the harbour are the BC Legislative Buildings, the Royal BC Museum and the ivy-covered Fairmont Empress Hotel.
For over 150 years many sail and power vessels have gathered here and this weekend will see over 100 historic vessels positioned in the heart of Victoria.
