david stevens real estate: Oktoberfest started yesterday in Munich and we Thought What Munich does We Do Better! - 09/18/11 11:27 AM
Here in little old Victoria, BC we celebrated Oktober Fest at my house last night. Music was a bit mad - Germanic, some might say ... Schnitzel was somewhat over-done... Bratwursts were Barbecued to a new colour - Black ... and Sauerkraut was sweet??? But - despite the culinary crises a great time was had by young and old alike, and what could be better, other than being in Munich for Oktoberfest! CHEERS!

david stevens real estate: What's the Difference Between a Farrier and a Blacksmith? - 10/10/10 04:06 PM
My young son has recently begun riding lessons and this week I mentioned to my parents (who are originally from the UK) that the Farrier was due to arrive at the riding school. My Mom said " We always used to call him the Blacksmith or 'Smithy' when we were young." So, that became the discussion as to the difference between the two terms, and here's what I found ... A Blacksmith makes and repairs things made of iron or steel. The village blacksmith repaired much of the farming items, but in "the olden days" (Mom!!), the blacksmith was also required

david stevens real estate: My Charity - AUTISM - 02/24/10 10:00 AM
Most Real Estate agents seem to contribute to a charity and mine is Autism. Autism affects 1 out of every 110 children and 1 in 70 boys. The numbers are growing and are far higher than we ever previously thought. Now, more than ever, we need answers. Medicare is not currently available for autism treatment anywhere in Canada despite a government run health plan that is supposedly universal. It is unacceptable that children with physical disabilities have access to government health insurance coverage, yet children with a mental or neurological disability do not share in this important social safety net

Our 85 year old Blue Bridge is causing heated discussion! At least it goes up and it goes down, which is more than most bridges do these days! It's a dilemma and one that should only be resolved by a referendum.
