david stevens realtor: Today is St. George's Day - I'm Being Patriotic! - 04/23/09 05:56 PM
I was born in England and brought up in Canada, but I thought it about time to celebrate St. George's Day (today, April 23), so I'm posting both the St. George Cross and the Union Jack. Many people in North America celebrate St. Patrick's Day and very rarely do I see anyone celebrating St. George! Although I like our British Columbia Flag, which contains parts of the Union Jack with a bit of BC sun!

When you arrive at the historic gates of Chinatown, you will be met with the sights and sounds of this small but interesting bit of old Victoria. Take a look at the interesting shops in Fan Tan Alley, at the heart of Chinatown. It is the narrowest street in North America, being only 5 ft wide. The downtown walking tours include the area in their itinerary.

Then I played University hockey at UMass-Lowell, Massachusetts, eventually becoming a pro hockey player in Europe for a total of 12 great years. In the meantime, I was always interested in buying and selling real estate both in Europe and in Victoria, British Columbia, where my family live, so once

david stevens realtor: Quaint House in Victoria, BC - The Swallowed Anchor - 06/29/08 06:49 PM
I recently came across this photo on Benjamin Madison's Blog, Victoria Daily Photo. Take a look at his Blog with some really outstanding pictures: http://victoriadailyphoto.blogspot.com/ I've always liked this house, ever since my parents took me to see it as a young child. What a great piece of real estate! It is known as the Swallowed Anchor, and is located across the road from Westbay Marina. The tiny house has an eccentric conglomeration of naval creations ranging from Peg Leg the Pirate and the Stork's nest on the roof, down to the lawn which has a large statue of King Neptune and a Mermaid, as well

david stevens realtor: Freaky but Fascinating! - 06/13/08 08:22 PM
Two white ravens have been seen in Qualicum, BC, on Vancouver Island (98 miles/157 kilometers from Victoria BC), together with their three black siblings. Bird expert and author Mike Yip of Nanoose Bay took this photo of the birds with the genetic defect. The area they were seen is called Ravensong Pool!! The birds are not Albino because they have blue eyes rather than pink eyes. Another pair of young white ravens was spotted last year in the same area and it is believed that there's a good chance the four white ravens came from the same parents. Photos by Mike Yip
