We in Victoria are very proud of our beautiful Inner Harbour, so when my cousin from Seattle came to visit this weekend we took her down to Fisherman's Wharf on the Inner Harbour. It's a wonderful place to wander around and see the sights and sounds of the little community of float homes, commercial fishing boats, whale watching boats, Barb's Fish and Chips, artists, buskers, seals and lots more.

Victoria is known as the City of Gardens, and Butchart Gardens is world-renowned for its beauty. Spring is a wonderful time to visit.

 
Our country is one of the few which celebrate the birthday of Queen Victoria, and what better place to visit than Victoria, BC. 
There are always lots of interesting events  and festivals during this time. The 73rd Victoria Highland Games Festival, the Selkirk Waterfront Festival and the Greater Victoria Performing Arts Festival are just a few of the exciting activities to be held during the month of May.

tourism: It's the Last weekend for Free-B Movies in Victoria's Beacon Hill Park. Absolutely Free! - 08/25/09 09:33 AM
This is the final weekend for the Free-B Film Festival at Beacon Hill Park in Victoria. On Friday, August 28th, the movie American Graffiti is playing, staring Richard Dreyfuss and Ron Howard.

This past weekend over 600 people watched Nightmare Castle, which brought attendance to well over 3000 for the first 3 weeks of showing Free movies.  Bring your blanket and a picnic under the stars - there is lots of room. American Graffiti is 113 minutes long in the General category.

Most people think of Canada as a cold and snowy country.  Well, not on Vancouver Island! The Victoria flower count is usually held during the last week of February, but this year it has been postponed to March 18th and lasts until March 23, not because of weather or the budget, but Rob Gialloreto, CEO of Tourism Victoria said the issue was due to the number of hours required by staff, as they were the sole programmer for the count.

Downtown Victoria is the only port on Vancouver Island for large cruise ships. Our Inner Harbour and downtown are wonderful visits for the passengers, who access the area via a shuttle bus. Whale watching is one of the most popular tourist attractions.
