victoria bc: CHINATOWN in Victoria, BC - 08/14/11 10:49 AM
I love to wander around Chinatown, within in our beautiful city. It's vibrant - full of interesting sights, sounds, smells, languages and old buildings. How about this address? This door is in Fan Tan Alley, a fascinating alleyway with glorious little entrances leading into curiosity shops! Take a look at this great virtual tour of the alley. The whole area is colourful, bustling and noisy, with neon lights, traffic, tourists and people from all walks of life - not at all like the rest of the Victoria downtown area, yet only a short walk from the Inner Harbour. Broadmead Village Centre is the commercial shopping core for residents of Cordova Bay, Royal Oak and Broadmead. Since 1965 homes have been built into this beautiful natural setting of Broadmead. The design principles of the homes and area respect the area's natural topography, mature trees and rock outcrops, with more than 20% of the community being public green space. This area is unique and desirable, with an elementary school, a church, office park, a 225-bed care facility for veterans and senios and a 47-store shopping centre. victoria bc: It was like the North Pole on the Vancouver Island slopes last week! - 02/21/11 10:31 AM
So ... last Wednesday I managed to arrange 2 days away from real estate to go skiing with my wife and son. Of course we were all really looking forward to this little break, but little did we know what was in store for us. Mt. Washington is a 4 hour drive from Victoria up the island to Courtney - it was a beautiful day, sunny but cool. I had checked the weather and knew it wasn't going to be perfect, perhaps even a little extra snow. Our first day was great - we had fun with our 6 year old

Saanichton Bay - A Perfectly Peaceful Spot Living at Turgoose Point Estates reminds us how lucky we are to live on southern Vancouver Island - one of the most diverse and liveable places on earth! 'Best described as a strip of trees and shore-line that provides green-space to a residential area, Saanichton Bay Park is a little known treasure. Explored from a paved path overlooking the water or from the foreshore, you will often find waterfowl and bald eagles here. This is a very easy, short walk. At the south end, the Sandhill Creek estuary mixes fresh water with salt.

victoria bc: Prince Charles and Camilla Duchess of Cornwall arrive in Victoria ... - 11/07/09 07:21 PM
The Royal couple, Charles and Camilla are visiting our beautiful city - they arrived late afternoon yesterday, and although Camilla admitted to being a bit jet-lagged they were "on show" for a few hours on the lawns of the Legislature. The crowds welcomed them and even though a lot of people couldn't care less about the Royal family, the people of Victoria always turn out to see and cheer them. It won't be long before they will be back again for the Winter Olypics in February 2010, in nearby Vancouver and Whistler. But for now, I'm sure they will enjoy our
