Today I have spent the whole day with several of the agents from our market center ant the Keystone conference center in Keystone, Colorado.  We aare training with about 500 other Keller Williams agents from all over Colorado.
We are learning all kinds of things about how to help our clients Buyers or Sellers.  Everything from first time home buyers to helping investors buy and sell homes.

Are you a first time home buyer?  Do you know someone who is thinking about buying.  Now is the time that they need to speak with a Real Estate Professional and a Mortgage Professional.
Why is now any different from yesterday.  The big reason is that November 30, 2009 the First Time Home buyers Tax Credit is set to expire.  The credit is good for up to $8000!  It also applys if the buyer has not owned a home in the last 3 years.

Should you Rent or Own a home?  For lots of our neighbors this is a burning question.  There are a few blanket answers, and even more variables that make it different for every situation.
Let's start with some of the ALWAYS items.
Start with self reflection,  What are your goals:   Professional, Family, Personal and Community. Talk with personal sphere.  Hear from those who know you best. Begin working with Professionals: Real Estate, Financial and Lending. If you don't plan to live in the area for a long enough time, it may not be your time to buy a home.

 When I first attended Colorado State University I thought I was going to be a teacher.  I thought that was going to be in a classroom with high school students.  That didn't happen but I do get the opportunity to educate.  It takes time but it is worth it.
With first time buyers I talk about all the reasons to consider owning vs. renting.  We explore their long and short term plans, career, family....  I spend a little time talking about any downsides of buying for their personal situation.  If they wish to continue I talk them through the whole process of buying.  We … (2 comments)
