Turns out the 2008 Midstate Fair in Paso Robles was a tremendous success in spite of decreased spendable income for most of the fair attendees.
Total attendance was 369,556 up .9% compared to 2007 Concert tickets sold were 68,502 up 10.1% compared to 2007 Concessions earned $877,919 up 11.7% compared to 2007 Carnival earned $520,000 up 1.0% compared to 2007 Junior Livestock/heifers earned $1,465,708 down 19.6% compared to 2007 Despite individual and corporate buyers who did their best to bid up auction prices for the heifers and livestock to help out the young people who raised these animals for the fair, … (0 comments)

Friday night Boz Scaggs came to the Midstate Fair in Paso Robles for Jazz Night. I was fortunate enough to be offered 2 tickets from a friend who happened to have a table. This is the first time I have had the opportunity to sit so close to the stage, so of course we decided to go. Add to that how much I enjoy Boz Scaggs and his band, and you know I was a happy camper.

Well, Folks, this will be brief. Boz Scaggs is headlining tonight for Jazz Night at the Midstate Fair. We were lucky enough to inherit 2 tickets for a table on the main floor (okay, it is dirt, but it is a table) a couple of days ago, so we will be leaving here in another hour or so to enjoy the evening. Well, folks, I was there to see singer/songwriter Rod Stewart at the Midstate Fair in Paso Robles last night. Brian Adams was the opening act. Brian Adams and his band were okay; nothing technically wrong. They just aren't one of my favorite bands, and they didn't win me over last night either.
On the other hand, Rod Stewart and his band were fabulous! Rod played a lot of his old hits, including Maggie May, Every Picture Tells A Story, Hot Legs, Do Ya Think I'm Sexy, Downtown Train and Passion. I wish he would have sung Georgie, but … (0 comments)

midstate fair: Traffic Enforcement Zones in Riverside During California Midstate Fair - 07/26/08 12:15 PM
FYI: During the fair, the Paso Robles Police Department will be enforcing strict regulations with regard to parking, pedestrian violations and all other vehicle codes to ensure safety of visitors.
With regard to parking, red paint on the curb indicates no parking. White paint indicates either passenger loading and unloading only or bus loading zones only in effect during the fair. Violators will be towed.
During the fair in previous years, PRPD has responded to many accidents. As a result, the following restrictive curb markings will be in effect during the fair:
