When you're looking for free WordPress themes you quickly discover there are thousands, if not millions, of them online!
Some are better than others - a lot are rehashes of common themes, but then there are some beautiful and unusual themes that are freely available.

One of my favorite WordPress plugins is Comment Luv, and I have finally been able to add it to my SEO Diva blog after a theme upgrade.
Comment Luv is a nice way to thank a visitor for leaving a comment on your blog by automatically listing the most recent blog post for their blog, with a link to the article.
Head on over to SEO Diva and try it it out - leave a comment and see your most recent blog post appear below it.

You need some serious password protection if you have a WordPress blog.
Your wp-admin directory is not the only part of your blog that needs protection...plugins, scripts, includes and content can all be hacked.
I'm paying more attention to this now because one of my blogs got hacked last week. Hundreds of invisible links for body part enlargement products and porn were attached to one of my blog posts, and the only reason I discovered the hack was because there were so many lines of code they crashed the post. I was lucky that only one post was affected.

According to Google, if you syndicate an article (or blog post) you can place it on another site without penalty. The key to doing this is to link back to the original source of the article from the syndicated spot.
I've been testing this for a few weeks. I've been posting to SEO Diva first, then placing the same post on Active Rain with a link back to Seo Diva. Are you a social media mogul? Have you LinkedIn, Facebooked, Ninged, Twittered, Zimbio'd and Squidoo'd? Is Craigslist a personal friend, do you check Feedburner hourly, and do you Plaxo daily?
There are so many social network sites, so many ways to tweet and twitter about your blog, site, or product. It's really hard to get it with some of them, much less keep up with them all. So eventually it's time to choose the ones you do get, that seem to bring in the traffic, and importantly, that you enjoy.

DailyBlogTips has a post on Rating Burner, which ranks the top 400 blogs on the web according to the number of RSS subscribers. There are a lot of SEO and Internet marketing bloggers on the list.
It's a handy-dandy way to find popular blogs in your niche. You'll still have to determine if they use 'no follow' tags if you plan to comment for linkbuilding purposes.

1. 50 Million US Internet users visited blog sites in Q1 2005. That’s 30% of all US Internet Users and 1 in 6 of total US population. Source: ComScore
By extrapolating the data in #5 below, that number would now be (at a minimum) over 71 million Internet users visiting blogs.
2. 1 out of 20 US adults have created a blog and 11% of Internet users are regular blog readers. Source: Pew Internet & American Life Project Report

I see that many of you are essentially "photo blogging" on Active Rain. (See my post No Time? Start a Photo Blog)
Have you thought about adding the same information on an independently hosted blog, with a keyword rich domain name, to give added links to your site? Not only that, you'd have more chances to pick up home buyers and sellers that are researching homes and agents on the Internet.
