Pricing your home is one of the most important aspects when it comes to selling. Overprice…and your home sits on the market for days, weeks, months, maybe years while other similar homes sell around you.

While other homes are selling, all you get to do is keep making that mortgage payment while your home sits on the market overpriced. Price to low and you end up losing out on money that could have been yours. So how do you know if your home is overpriced?

There are a few ways to gauge this but here some of the most obvious:

* Your home has been on the market longer than similar homes in your area that came on the market after yours * Very few people are coming to preview your home
* You seem to have a lot of home previews but still haven’t received any offers

Hike the Franklin Mountains

Hiking the Franklin Mountains is a very affordable weekend activity. When you access the park, the cost is $4 a person. Be sure to take plenty of water with you. At least 3 liters a person if you are going to hike Mount Franklin North. As always, be cautious of snakes and watch your step. When you are standing almost 3,000 ft above El Paso, be proud…you are at one of the highest points in the state of Texas.

EL PASO — Storm clouds gather over the southern horizon, rising toward the heavens. At the same time, the hot summer sun is setting in the west as the sky begins to turn a red-orange. After living in El Paso for two years, this time of year is always exciting for me.

El Paso Driving To Improve on City's West Side

With around $80 million in construction funds, look for an expansion of Loop 375/TransMountain road on El Paso's West Side. With this expansion, roads will be widened from 2 lanes to four lanes along with elevated roadways at intersections.

A Downtown Coming Back To Life

El Paso's downtown was once a bustling center for commerce, nightlife, and living. Then the suburbs came into play and like many other cities around the United States, the once heart of the city was forgotten. Recently, there has been development going on in the new "entertainment" district, "government" district, and other parts of El Paso's downtown.

The first urban living space was finished a few months ago in what is now classified as the government district...(federal courthouse, county courthouse, etc) A group of brothers bought the building and took that risky first step in trying to create a livable downtown. I made the following two videos during the construction phase to share with others the development of downtown El Paso.

Find Yourself At El Pisto In El Paso, Texas

El Paso is home to many great local eateries. One of my favorites is Located in downtown on 212 W. Overland.

El Pisto is the name and making great food is their game. It can be an easy place to miss if you aren’t looking for it closely but you will happy once you discover it....follow the smell!

I recommend their picadillo tacos, chicken tacos, stacked enchiladas, fish tacos, homemade churros and the hamburger (those are all of the dishes I have tried). If you get a chance, grab some lunch or dinner at El Pisto.

If you are partying downtown, they open up for breakfast from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. on Saturday & Sunday. Also, I hear they offer a Sunday Brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday. I haven't been but it is supposedly pretty good.

Openness Is Good For Everyone

I have never been able to see so far until I moved out here to El Paso. A few minutes of meditation while looking out towards the horizon can put the mind and body in sync.

Sometimes I use the natural sounds around me and other times I will put on the headphones. When you find an area that can motivate, inspire, and cause reflection, you know a special place has been found. To those who have not taken advantage of the gift that is available to you 24/7, I suggest you give it a try.it might just help you find the answer to that question you haven’t been able to answer for weeks, months, or years.

We must realize that we are but a small piece of this place we call the world, but despite this, we have also been given the ability to influence, motivate, and inspire those around us in this city we call El Paso and this region we call Paso Del Norte. Now, as we have seen, our decisions can be beneficial but can also be harmful.

The path we take as a city should not be decided by a few, but by many. Never think that just because you are one person that you don’t have the ability to make change for the better.

Words are a powerful tool than can lead to life changing decisions. Look at what the Declaration of Independence did in being one of the first steps that led to the creation of the United States of America. Merely words on a piece of paper led to what is now one of the most influential countries in the history of man kind. How we use that influence is up to us, but the ability to do good is there.

Does El Paso have a true road map of where it wants to go? Have we really gotten together as a city and decided what path we want to take to ensure the success and well being of all current and future citizens? I can’t answer this question, because I truly don’t know.

EL PASO - Thomas Edison once said, "Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work."

Merriam-Webster defines work as a sustained physical or mental effort to overcome obstacles and achieve an objective or result.

The world we live in is full of potential hazards that have the ability to make us want to stay in our comfort zone.

Most people whose names line the biographies we read today were not individuals who huddled in a corner waiting for the world to come to them. They went to the world and let everyone know that they were there to live life to the fullest and make a difference.
