There's a lot going on in and around Oconee Co. Ga this weekend!
First is the 15th annual Southworks Arts Festival Saturday and Sunday, May 1 & 2 from 10:00 a.m. - 5 p.m. at the Oconee Arts Foundation (OCAF) building on School Street. Southworks not only features a juried artists' market with 80 artists from all over the southeast specializing in oil painting, pottery, folk art, jewelry, weaving, photography sculpture, blown & stained glass among others for you to enjoy and purchase. ASHFORD MANOR CONCERTS ON THE LAWN 2010 SCHEDULE - 04/24/10 03:59 PM
Ashford Manor in the heart of downtown Watkinsville, GA, has announced the schedule for the 2010 Concerts on the Lawn Series. It is a great line-up for this 10th anniversary season:
May 3 - The Courduroy Road (Americana, Bluegrass, Folk Rock, Old timey country)
May 17 - The Last Waltz Ensemble with the music of Bob Dylan
May 31 - Sons of Sailors (Jimmy Buffet cover band)
June 14 - Normaltown Flyers (great local band dating from 1979 playing pickup truck rock & roll)
July 3 - Abbey Road Live with favorites from the Beatles

OCONEE CO. GA ANIMAL CONTROL FAMILY FUN DAY - 04/22/10 12:46 PM
There was a lot going on last Saturday (April 17, 2010) at the Oconee Co. Animal Control's annual Family Fun Day at Heritage Park.
There was a fire truck, a police car and a big trash truck (clean!) for kids to see, touch and learn about.
Kids were jumping
People and dogs waited patiently for $5.00 rabies shots and $15.00 microchips.
Some dogs seemed excited about the possibility of being adopted by a forever family.
Others weren't too worried about it.
Miss Gail and Marion from Miss Gail's Southern Cooking served up bar-b-cue.

OCONEE CO. BUSINESS EXPO TOMORROW APRIL 22, 2010 - 04/21/10 08:51 AM
This is just one of the fun things for children at the Oconee Co. Chamber of Commerce sponsored Business Expo to be held on April 22, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Oconee Co. Civic Center on Hwy 53. There will be exhibits and give-aways from many businesses and institutions in Clarke and Oconee Counties along with food and Cattlemen's Assoc. and Agri-Business Committee.

WEEKEND EVENTS IN WATKINSVILLE AND OCONEE CO. GA - 04/16/10 07:48 AM
As Spring progresses, the number of weekend events increases also. There are a lot of things going on in and around Oconee Co. and Watkinsville this weekend. You may want to make and list so you won't leave anything out!
FAMILY FUN DAY at Heritage Park on 441 S. Oconee Co. Animal Control is sponsoring a day with fun for the whole family, food and adoptable animals from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. there will be face painting, touch a truck, pony rides, train rides, inflatatable playscapes and demonstrations of dog agility training.
