purchase: A quick mortgage thought... - 06/06/11 08:48 AM
Much of the national news we hear regarding mortgage and real estate is negative.  It is important to remember that real estate is truly local.  If you are thinking of buying or selling a home the best thing to do is speak with a local, experienced realtor whose familiar with your neighborhood.  The same is true if you're thinking of refinancing or trying to lower your monthly bills.  Mortgage rates remain at historic lows.  The 30 year fixed mortgage rate has been consistently below 5% for qualified borrowers with even lower rates available for shorter term loans.  With these interest rates … (0 comments)

purchase: Another FHA success story at Northeast Bank - 03/31/11 08:29 AM
It has been a good start to 2011 for Northeast Bank and our customers.  I was able to help another family close on a new home today by taking advantage of the FHA loan program.  Many people see this loan program as complicated, but in reality it is no more difficult to process and close an FHA loan than any other mortgage loan.  It simply takes the right amount of communication and attention to detail to ensure the transaction goes smoothly. It certainly also helps to have a great support staff and team working behind you which is exactly what we … (0 comments)

purchase: There is a home out there for everyone - 03/22/11 04:31 AM

After a year where funding was sporadic for the Rural Development Guarantee Loan Program in 2010 funding has returned for 2011.  According to the latest bulletin there is ample funding for purchase loans in the State of Maine at this time.
What is the Rural Development Guarantee Loan Program?  This is a government program provided by most local lenders, including Northeast Bank, which allows homebuyers an opportunity to obtain 100% financing for a purchase.  No down payment is required for borrowers who qualify.  This program helps make the dream of homeownership a reality for so many people who do not have … (1 comments)

purchase: Weekend House Shopping - 01/21/11 07:17 AM
This Sunday, January 23rd, I will be attending the open house at 2 McQuillians Hill Drive in Gorham, ME.  This home just went on the market this month and is listed by Jason Bisson, a local realtor with the Maine Real Estate Network.  I have worked with Jason on several transactions over the past couple years and have found him to be very knowledgable of the local market as well as someone who works extremely hard for his clients.
The home is a custom extended cape on 8 acres bult in 1997.  This home has some terriffic features including a gourmet kitchen, … (0 comments)
