93% Full and still going - 08/17/06 09:54 AM
It is truly time to look at our business from the right prospective which the media seldom does. We hear all the bad news about the job loss and negative impact on the market and our economy and we see the attitude of our prospective customer and clients go south. With 7% unemployment goes 93% employment and lots of folks still working, making a living and buying what they need on a daily basis. These folks would continue to do what they need to do if the media did not keep hitting them with tons of negative press and the idea

DOING IT FOR YOURSELF vs THIRD PARTY REFERRALS - 08/14/06 12:21 PM
I know I have said this before but not on AR. I am amazed at how many Realtors don't understand the benefit of developing their own referral systems (see www.SEMichiganHomeInfo.com). I have heard MANY Realtors say that they get more for the dollar they spend on their own referral prospecting than they get by paying someone else to give them the lead. If you really think through the process this has to be the case. Just imagine for a second the difference between paying a couple of thousand dollar referral fee and setting up a system like RealPro. Both will cost

Insurance can be a problem everywhere! - 08/10/06 02:33 PM
One of my agents just came forward with a problem we have not had to deal with in the past. The new purchaser was being denied insurance coverage on the home they were purchasing because a previous owner had filed a claim several years ago for extensive water damage to the home. The claim is showing up in the CLUE database. The home is currently a corporate owned property and now the corporation has to find the employee and get all of the repair invoices to prove the repairs were made in a timely professional manner before the insurance can be written. Make sure

Look to your Realtor for Loan advice! - 08/10/06 11:45 AM
Bankrate website draws millions of visitors, as it promises to give a listing of companies and their rate and cost offerings for mortgage loans, and even passes that information on to most of America's largest newspapers as fact. It proclaims itself to be a tool for the consumer, just delivering information and advice...but as many reputable mortgage lenders have known all along, it turns out that consumers are finding the reality of Bankrate to be a little different. A lawsuit may be in the works against Bankrate, after hundreds of consumers complained about lenders who failed to deliver the rates and terms they

She's gone and done it again. Blanche Evans is awesome! - 08/07/06 12:26 PM
As I have said in several earlier blogs, Blanche Evans of Realty Times does her research and gets it straight when it comes to an analysis of the attacks that are being waged against Realtors and the Real Estate Profession. In Blanche's latest remarks titled The Real Estate Industry Strikes Back you will have a good look at the truth of what is really happening and the reaction of those around those laying siege. Again, I think all Realtors should read her column first thing every morning. I take that back, I think she should be on the front page of every major newspaper in the

What the Future hold for Realtors - 08/06/06 11:04 AM
I found this article (Protecting Realtors from a Marketing Meltdown) about the future of real estate very interesting. It's from RISMedia by Mike Long, CEO of Move, Inc, (see following URL) - whether you trust Realtor.com, Allen Dalton, or whomever, the article from this issue of RISMedia were interesting and thought-provoking. Blogging on this site should more than just points. I see people putting up ads on their listing or asking a simple question etc. I personally feel that this should be used in such a way as to increase the knowledge of those reading them. What do you think.
