The first day of winter has arrived in the Vail Valley!  I left my house this morning at 6:30am headed to spin class with a balmy calm cloud covered sky, but when I left the gym at 8:15am the winds were blowing and the snow was flying!  Woo-hooo, winter!!

This morning I went to one of our listings to turn lights on, open blinds, and get the place ready for a showing.  The listing is at Hummingbird Lodge in Bachelor Gulch, Penthouse Residence C-302.
 
While there, I had to step out on the balcony and take this photo with my iPhone.  With a dusting of snow on Gore Range and the last of the color on the Aspen trees, I had my breath taken away with this view!

Is that necessarily true?  True, a rose would still smell great and look great if we called it the blood petal plant, but would we really think of it the same without the pretty name "rose"?  I ask this question because I've been dealt an interesting name card.

Vail, CO Snow Storm? - 10/02/10 10:34 PM
I was just looking through some of my Autumn photos from years past here in Vail, and ran across my 'first snow' photo from 2006.  Luckily I had date stamped the photo, 9/24/2009.  Hard to believe the Gore Range was completely covered in snow in September of 2006.  After seeing this photo, I got so excited for the coming ski season that I checked the Weather Channelto see when we should expect our first storm.  We don't have long to wait!
