vail village: A Vail Mountain Dog's Life - 01/21/13 06:58 AM
It's a Mountain Dog thing... you wouldn't understand.

Meet Miss Maude.  Maude is a Chow-mix my husband and I adopted in Savannah, GA ten years ago.  Maude is a lucky mountain dog now, living in the Vail Valley of Colorado.  She loves being a mountain dog, and thanks her lucky stars with all that fur she didn’t get stuck in the hot, humid south.  She even gets to go to work with her “mom and dad” on occasion.
At the office today, Maude begged me to head out into Vail Village to sport her new leash, a Slifer Smith & … (4 comments)

vail village: Vail's New Gondola "One" Ready for the 50th Anniversary Season - 11/10/12 07:35 AM

With Vail Mountain's opening day less than one week away, we are all pretty excited about the ribbon cutting ceremony of Vail’s new gondola “One.”  All summer long, we’ve watched as they took out the old Vista Bahn chair lift in the heart of Vail Village.  And what excitement to watch helicopters fly through our valley taking out the towers and replacing with the new gondola.
We awoke today to a fresh blanket of snow in Vail and Beaver Creek, and everyone has smiles on their faces.  Whether you ski, snowboard, telemark, snow shoe, ice skate… (what am I missing … (0 comments)

vail village: Dreaming of Snow in the Vail Valley - 09/17/11 04:22 AM

Over my Saturday morning coffee, I was cleaning out my iPhone photo file and came across this sunset photo I took from my office in Vail Village at Solaris last winter.
I think I just realized why autumn is my favorite season… because winter comes next!
Cheers to a great weekend everyone.  Get out and enjoy the fall weather, dreaming of the snow that’s on the way!

vail village: Solaris, Vail's New "Town Center" - 07/15/11 07:33 AM
Nearly one year ago, I made the move to Slifer Smith & Frampton’s newest office in the all-new Solaris building in Vail Village.  I never would have thought this area could grow so much in just one year.  Today’s headline in the local Vail Daily reads:

Vail Village is one of the most beautiful, fun, exciting, active places I’ve ever been.  And to be a part of the new “Center of Vail” is absolutely exhilarating.  Each day, I walk past Yeti’s Grind coffee shop and the North Face store on the way to my office.  There … (0 comments)

vail village: Vail Valley Weekend Wrap-Up, Thanks for Visiting! - 07/05/11 11:58 AM
What an amazing weekend in the VailValley.  There were fireworks displays of magnificence in Avon, Beaver Creek and Vail, outdoor concerts, farmer’s markets and so many people EVERYWHERE!  I’m always surprised at the turnout here in the Valley for the 4thof July.  Everyone thinks of Vail as a winter ski destination.  But, wow, you should see this place in the summer!

The flowers are blooming, the sun is shining, and I’ve never seen so many people on bicycles cruising around the neighborhoods.  Thanks to everyone who visited our mountain communities this holiday weekend.  We hope to see you again … (3 comments)

vail village: Vail Snow Daze - Mix Master Mike Tonight - 12/09/10 09:14 AM
There’s a concert right outside my office tonight!

Are you ready for some fun tonight in Vail?  Head to the Village for Mix Master Mike who will be kicking off Vail Snow Daze!  The concert, which is being held at the corner of Meadow Drive and Willow Bridge Road, in front of the all new Solaris building, starts at 6:00pm.
Since my office is located at the Solaris building, if you’re in the area, give me a call.  I might just have a hook-up for a great spot to sip some hot chocolate and listen to the tunes!
