workshop: Learn How to Create Your Own Compelling Workshop - 10/02/08 10:09 AM
Workshops are a creation of your own which become a tool for both you and your audience. The original idea is to create a tool which will deliver your "value" give. The Randy Pausch "head fake learning" value is that you learn about yourself, your ability to overcome obstacles, and your willingness to put yourself "out there." If you want a great example of fortitude and putting yourself "out there" check out Scientific American writer Nikhil Swaminathan's great article on Randy here. Benefits of Creating Your Workshop 1. Research makes you smarter. When you create a workshop you usually perform research

The following is an announcement and flyer for my upcoming workshop on Networking in Northern California. I am trying to perfect the message for my workshop "Learn How To Market Yourself Through Networking." What Would You Change or Fix? If you could make changes to this copy what would you fix? Is it clear and succinct. Does the reader understand the value? Is it boring? Anything you can think of is very much appreciated! Networking

Along with my business partner Susan Hanshaw, I attended my first BABW event "Women Workin It, A Community Building Event" I was one of only 3 men in an audience of 75 women business owners. Here were my take aways: Duel Platform BABW provides readers a duel platform of print news

workshop: Learn From Google: Your Competitive Advantage - 07/16/08 11:24 AM
The New York Times article July 7, 2008 "Google, Zen Master of the Marketplace" in their Business "News Analysis" section teaches a very important lesson that all Realtors can benefit from if they adopt the following mantra: The source of Google's competitive advantage is learning by doing--Hal R. Varian, Google chief economist Learning by Doing Similar to Nike's long time running ad "Just Do it" my interpretation of Google's ". . . learning by doing" is the process in which Google has created their "unfair advantage" and differentiating factor in their market How Do You Learn by Doing 1. workshop: Add Value To Your Community And Business: Support A Program or Charity - 06/22/08 01:34 PM
In the first article in this series, Add Value To Your Community: Become An Expert Tip #1, I posited the idea that you could provide a free workshop-keynote speech by teaching a class at your county Adult Education aka Community Education program. In this article the idea is for Realtors or brokers to choose a non-profit, charity, or state run program as your partner in networking. Choose the organization that you are most passionate about in your life 2. Create a

One of the easiest and most fulfilling methods to add value to your community, create goodwill amongst consumers, network into the business community as well as consumers, and position yourself as an expert in your field is to provide free Workshop-Keynote presentations.
