Briarcliff Manor is a fairly new subdivision off of Old Columbia Pike and Burtonsville.  Most of the homes are very large (over 4,000 square feet) newer (built between 2000 and 2004) luxury single family homes on larger than average lots (15,000 square ft to over a half acre).  There are beautiful open spaces, a playgound, walking - jogging trails and the subdivision is bordered by many acres of wooded parkland.

Growing up as a Kid in Maryland, I knew that my State Flower was the Black Eyed Susan, My State Bird was a Baltimore Oriole and that my state song was "Maryland My Maryland" (sung to the tune of Tannenbaum O Tannenbaum or to me, Christmas Tree Oh Christmas Tree).What I didn't know, is how Official State Symbols come to be, They actually take an act of the General Assembly of Maryland and are numbered Articles or Codes of Government.
