silver spring halloween: Downtown Silver Spring's Urban Pumpkin Patch - 10/15/10 03:37 PM
A Pumpkin Patch recently opened on a vacant lot in East Silver Spring on Fenton Street near Thayer Avenue. It looks like it might be an urban kid's heaven at this time of year.  Usually you would have to drive outside the Silver Spring CBD to find a pumpkin patch and farm stand like this one and it sure helps with the scenery on Fenton Street right now.Besides pumpkins, there are ciders, some pretty impressive gourds, squash, apples, potatoes and onions  Opens around 10am and closes at dusk.

silver spring halloween: Halloween is Over - Time to Think Turkey and the Annual Silver Spring Thanksgiving Parade - 11/10/09 09:47 AM
Somewhere in Silver Spring . . . . the skeleton house was my pick for the best Halloween Display I saw this year.  My photos do not do it justice because they are taken in the daytime.  There are skulls mounted on the gutters with fire spewing out of them (at night) like funeral pyres.  Still can't figure out how they did that? At night this yard really looks like a graveyard with skeletons hanging in trees, coffins, sitting in chairs, hanging from the highest window, sprawled on the ground in pieces.
