Northshore Trail - Mountain biking, Grapevine, Texas - 03/21/10 04:19 PM
Northshore Trail This is one of my favorite trails and close to home.  It offers a variety of riding skills.  Some sections are for the advanced riders.  There are several creek crossings and good rock drop offs and climbs.  I have ridden it in the snow, rain and when it's blistering hot!  I've also gotten stranded a few times.  Be sure to bring your bike bag with the essentials.  Seems like you guys never have what you need and us girls do.  Oh, sorry.  Please don't forget to the helmet.  For those of you who I ride with know how I … (1 comments)

Stingray Concept: Transformers Corvette A High-Tech Hybrid Super Car Yesterday we had the exclusive opportunity to drive the Corvette Stingray concept, GM's latest Transformers star. With a conceptual hybrid powertrain and iPhone app-like downloads, it represents a merger of GM design and technology from the past, present and future.
The Corvette Stingray concept, first introduced at the 2009 Chicago Auto Show, and starring in the recently-released Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen as Autobot Sideswipe, represents a visionary modern interpretation of the past, present and future of the Corvette. Conceptually, it represents the merger of high technology with high design … (2 comments)

With hurricane season underway, and alligators on the rampage, and sharks looking for lunch, does Florida really need Burmese pythons?

The best place to Live - Coppell, TX!! - 03/18/10 04:47 PM
Why is Coppell, TX the best place to live in the DFW Metroplex?  Lot's of reasons as far as I'm concerned.  One of the top reasons is Coppell's school district rating of Recognized.  Of the 14 schools in the Coppell ISD 11 of which are rated Exemplary.  We also have a New Tech High School that is Exemplary rated and hosts a new way of teaching/learning.
The second reason is our property values.  Texas is not one of the hardest hit states when we are discussing declining property values.  Not to say that there aren't towns in the DFW Metroplex that aren't, we … (0 comments)

DALLAS MORTGAGE DELINQUENCIES JUMP IN JANUARY
DALLAS (Dallas Morning News) - The number of Dallas homeowners 90 days or more late on their mortgage payments surpassed Texas' delinquency rate in January and the city's year-ago total, according to First American CoreLogic.
CoreLogic reported that 6.14 percent of Dallas homeowners were 90 or more days behind on their payments in January, up from 4.22 percent in January 2009.
Statewide, 5.65 percent of homeowners were behind, well below the 8.66 percent delinquency rate of homeowners nationwide.

Program Will Pay Homeowners to Sell at a Loss
Published: Monday, 8 Mar 2010 | 10:21 AM ET
By: David StreitfeldThe New York Times
In an effort to end the foreclosure crisis, the Obama administration has been trying to keep defaulting owners in their homes. Now it will take a new approach: paying some of them to leave.
This latest program, which will allow owners to sell for less than they owe and will give them a little cash to speed them on their way, is one of the administration's most aggressive attempts to grapple with a problem that has … (2 comments)

Lenders - Make or break a deal! - 03/06/10 11:29 AM
I have been selling real estate here in the DFW area now for 6 years.  Since all the changes have come about in this "new" market, I want to shutter when the buyer wants to use their own lender.  For the most case this turns out ok, but I see a whole lot less issues when they use mine.  I represent the sellers on a deal right now that I have been trying to get closed.  The buyer is using "their own lender" and the deal has been nothing but problems.  It's one thing after another and then another.  It sure … (3 comments)

GOVERNMENT REFINANCING PROGRAM EXTENDED - 03/02/10 02:55 PM
GOVERNMENT REFINANCING PROGRAM EXTENDED
WASHINGTON, D.C. (Associated Press) - Homeowners have received another year to refinance their loans under the Home Affordable Refinance Program, the Federal Housing Finance Agency announced yesterday.
The program, which was originally scheduled to end June 10 but now expires June 30, 2011, allows borrowers who owe up to 25 percent more than their homes are worth to refinance at lower interest rates.
The Treasury Department reports that, so far, the program has helped about 220,000 homeowners with loans owned or guaranteed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, far less than the projected four to five million.

I want to know if it's just me................. - 03/02/10 01:32 PM
Seems like the last year my real estate transactions have been more difficult than normal.  I think I have had one "normal" transaction in the past year.  The rest have been very trying.  Seems like there are extinuating circumstances that are out of my control.  You end up working 3 times as many hours and/or it falls apart.  Then there's the mortgage industry.  With all of the new changes, this makes our job more challenging as well.  So, is it just me?  Is anyone else thinking about going to work for McDonalds?  Would you like ketchup with that?
