real estate: Market Report - 1st Quarter - Helena, Alabama 35080 - 04/09/09 06:53 PM
 
When you gaze upon the waters you have a tendency to reflect back and see where you have been and think about where you may be going. 
When we compare the market activity in the 1st quarter of 2008 to the 1st quarter of 2009 we can see that Active listing inventory is slightly down with 259 homes presently on the market compared to 275 Actives last year.  There were 67 homes that were withdrawn or expired off the market without selling in 2008 compared to only 56 homes in 2009.

According to the Primary Mortgage Market Survey®published today   at Freddiemac.com the average rate in the Southeast on a 30 Year Conventional Fixed Mortgage is at 5.24% and 4.95% for a 15 Year term. Of course these rates can vary a bit from lender to lender but these are incredible Mortgage loan interest rates! (The APR will vary on these approximate rates based on the amount of closing costs charged by the lender of your choice)

This week I was invited to an Agent Appreciation Luncheon hosted by the Ballantrae Sales Team at Ballantrae, a beautiful Golf Course Community in Pelham, Alabama.  It was a nice way to say "Thank You" to the co-operating agents that had SOLD their listings.  It was a festive event with Turkey & Dressing and ALL the trimmings.
