If you overprice your house, you will lose money! - 03/29/12 08:30 PM
I'm dealing with a situation now where a home owner had her house over priced with another agent. After a total of two years on the market we have it under contract for much less than the original asking price. Negations were long to get to the under contract stage, because all the owner could think of was how much money she was losing from the original listing price. Thanks to Mike Cooper for the original blog.

It's That Time of Year...Watch Your Ditch Fires, Don't End Up Like This Property Owner - 03/23/12 06:12 PM
It's That Time of Year...Watch Your Ditch Fires, Don't End Up Like This Property Owner. With the warmer weather of spring here, a lot of property owners are burning their fields and irrigation ditches to clear them of the weeds. It's also the time of year we hear a lot of sirens because too many people let their ditch fires get out of hand, or try to burn and then the wind kicks up.
It's always a good idea to check with your local fire department and let them know you are going to be burning. Get some advice from the … (10 comments)

Delta County, Colorado Board of REALTORS® Rally and Have a Great Time - 03/21/12 07:38 PM
Delta County, Colorado Board of REALTORS® Rally and Have a Great Time. One of the things members of our board noticed was the lack of opportunities for members to get together and have fun on a professional level. Four years ago, the Delta County Board of REALTORS® started it's own REALTOR® Rally.
This is one day we set aside every spring to get together for a continental breakfast, lunch and some learning sessions. This gives us a break from work...selling Delta County Real Estate. This year's topic was Technology...Love it, Hate, Learn to Live With It. Members were given updates on … (8 comments)

Colorado Just Died and Went To Football Heaven - 03/19/12 05:15 PM
Colorado Just Died and Went To Football Heaven. It appears the rumors are true and there is just some paperwork to get through, but it looks like Peyton Manning will be playing for the Denver Broncos. What a day for Bronco's fans. The offense seems suited to a quarterback like Manning.
As a long time Bronco's Fan I just wish the best for the team, and this seems like a great move. I can't wait for next season and the new excitement this will bring.

Spring Is On Hold...Mother Nature Is Reminding Us It's Only Mid March - 03/18/12 05:22 PM
Spring Is On Hold...Mother Nature Is Reminding Us It's Only Mid March. Here on the Western Slope of Colorado we've enjoyed wonderful weather for the last week, or so. Temperatures were in the 50s and 60s and, I started buying sandals in anticipation of the upcoming warmer weather. I know it's only temporary, but Mother Nature is reminding us it's still early and anything can happen when it comes to the weather.
My herb plants liked the warmer weather and some of them started poking their little heads up through the ground. Today we got a bit of snow and there … (7 comments)

Going "green" - then versus now - 03/15/12 09:45 PM
Here's some good food for thought while you enjoy your morning cup of coffee, or late night beverage...depending on what part of the country you are in. I think the internet has had a lot to do with helping the green movement. Just because of email alone, there is a lot less paper being used. Thanks to Juli Vosmik for the original blog.

Crane Days In Eckert, Colorado Is In Full Swing...Truly Amazing - 03/15/12 07:26 PM
Crane Days In Eckert, Colorado Is In Full Swing...Truly Amazing. This is an informal event to mark the migration of the Sandhill Crane. At times you can see thousands of these birds lifting off at one time. It's like a black tornado cloud of birds that keeps moving upwards.
One of the cranes' favorite night time stops is Fruit Growers Reservoir just over a mile east of Eckert, Colorado.
.
If you look closely you can see the cranes in the background. I just had to post this picture because of the great reflection. This is the north end of Fruit … (9 comments)

An Old Friend Is Gone, But A New Friendship Begins - 03/13/12 05:42 PM
An Old Friend Is Gone, But A New Friendship Begins. I must admit starting a relationship with my new friend was kind of difficult because my old friend was still around and wanted my attention more than ever, and he deserved it. I had 10 good years with my old buddy, Chaco. Chaco was a 60 pound mixed breed rescue dog from the local animal shelter.
Last Thursday we had to put him to sleep. The vet is still unsure what caused him to become paralyzed. We tried medication, but after a week and half it was plain to see that nothing was going to … (19 comments)

Cedaredge, Colorado Girls Tennis Is Underway.  The high school girls team officially kicked off the season last week, and the girls are working hard and looking forward to their first match. The first match is Tuesday, March 13 against the Montrose Indians.
Coach Mic is doing a great job and working hard to make sure the girls are ready. The girls can really practice in style this year, since the public courts were resurfaced. This was a project funded by Colorado Lottery dollars.
