Scenes From Deltarado Days, Delta, Colorado. Activities have been going on all over Delta, Colorado since Thursday for the 2012 Deltarado Days. I think the most anticipated event is vendor village in Cleland Park. Here vendors from all over the area set up with different kinds of crafts and food booths. There's also a lot of activities for the kids, and in spite of the heat everyone looked like they were having a good time.

Now showing...Delta, Colorado's Historic Egyptian Theatre. With it's Main Street location among the more standard architecture, the Egyptian Theatre will get your attention. It's still in use today as a theatre and the building is on the National Register of Historic Places.
Delta, Colorado's Historic Egyptian Theatre first opened in 1928. It was designed by Montana Fallis who used the motifs and imagery of ancient Egypt as a model for the building. Land of The Free, Because of The Brave. I got the title from a handmade wooden sign on Colorado's Highway 50 between Delta and Grand Junction. The house that hosts this sign stands all alone in a remote area of the country beaten by the elements, but rewarded by generous and beautiful mesa views. Like it's host, the sign stands alone, as a reminder to all that pass that freedom isn't free. Delta County, Colorado Has Many Beautiful Valleys You Can Call Home. Our high country is wonderful and usually gets all the attention, but Delta County, Colorado also has some beautiful valleys with wonderful scenery. The Dry Creek area between Cedar Mesa and Redlands Mesa is one such area, as is the Current Creek area.
The Dry Creek Valley is bordered to the north by the foothills of The Grand Mesa...the world's largest flat top mountain. To the south there are views of the Delta area and the San Juan Mountains. While all the details are still in the final planning stages, the event is sure to have something for everyone... just as it has in the past.

The Strut Your Mutt Fundraiser 5K Was A Big Success For Delta, Colorado's Animal Shelter. Around 50 people turned out with their dogs to help raise money for the Delta, Colorado Animal Shelter. This is a pretty good turnout for a small town with less than 10,000 people. Walkers came from all over Delta County. Participants collected donations and several thousand dollars was raised to support a great organization.
