While sitting outside the condo in Boca Grande, FL over the Memorial Day weekend, I found the greatest shells and a sea urchin for my collection. This photo, now my desktop background, makes me relaxed and happy. It's sooooo hot out, I wish I was there now.
Lake Mary, FL was voted the #4 Place to Live in the U.S. by Money Magazine... Do you want to know what it's like living in the #1 Place in the South? Please email/text or call me...
I love Twitter... 140 Character Conversations- short, sweet and efficient. I found Phone Tag in a link that @EricaMueller shared one morning and have never looked back. Phone Tag is a service that transcribes your voice mail to a text message or email. I know, you want it... don't you.
I fell in love with Phone Tag when I realized that I could respond to callers via email or text even when I was with someone and I didn't want to place a call in front of them. Instant gratification and immediate appreciation for the caller when you acknowledge them. It's a Win - Win.
The Orlando Area is home to some of Golf's greatest players and courses, if you live here long enough you'll end up playing yourself, I did. I was introduced to the game by one of my favorite customers, Dean Stromwall. He was kind enough to spend some time with me on the range and I was hooked, and my drives were too.
The highlight of the Golf Season in Orlando has to be the Arnold Palmer Invitational held at Bayhill Club & Lodge. Last years Invitational had one of the most spectacular finishes in all of Golf, Tiger Woods sinking his final put for the win. I think that there were even a few non-Golfers out there that found this to be one of the most memorable moments in sports.
If you love Golf, you'll love it here. From the Public to Private Orlando Area Courses there is a home for every level of player.
If you are thinking about making the move to the Orlando Area and you Love Golf, please contact me by phone/text or email to discuss the right course for you.
Why do banks/lenders who have to grant third party approval in a short-sale transaction often reduce the broker's compensation to a rate that is less than what the seller agreed to in their contract with the listing broker?
Yet, when these banks/lenders take possesion of homes through the foreclosure process, at an expense that often exceeds $20,000 - $30,000, do they offer compensation in amounts that far exceed what they typically authorize in a short-sale?
hmmm...
It almost appears that they want to discourage the real estate industry from trying to help homeowners avoid foreclosure, doesn't it.
A short-sale is a time consuming endeavor for a REALTOR, often an exhausting waste of time. If these financial institutions truly wanted to help Americans avoid foreclosure wouldn't they take advantage of the "free labor force" of the the real estate industry that is trying to help them dispose of their non-performing assets prior to taking a much greater loss?
It's been very difficult to cut back - quietly not writing comments and posts, but I've been good girl and I am steadily increasing my time at the keyboard and so far, so good.
I really appreciate all the kind words of encouragement and emails from other Active Rain Members these past few weeks, it really has helped me get through my time on the sidelines.
I have a desk full of post-it-note ideas just waiting to be written. Please stop by again soon or subscribe in a reader to see what's been going on in my world.
Yes, you're right, Orlando is not on the coastline - I noticed. But, in less than an hour you can be on my favorite Florida beaches in your chair soaking up the sun and listening to the waves crashing on the shore. The best of both worlds, yes... you just might be onto something.

The sand and the surf are two of the reasons that I moved to Florida over 20 years ago.

Many Lake Mary and Seminole County residents have taken sides on the proposed Olympic-sized pool at Lake Mary High School. I saw the pool as an improvement to the School and the community. I spend a lot of time with people who are considering Lake Mary as their home and the addition of a pool to the area is perceived as a positive one.
I know that school budget cuts and funding are of concern to everyone and that the pool can also be seen as a luxury item that isn't necessary... The City of Lake Mary is in a very difficult place and I hope that residents attend the Council Meeting to have their voices heard.
Are you one of the 34% of Americans that would like to live in Orlando? I was... I made the move over 23 years ago to Orlando from the Seattle Area (ranked #3) and I've never looked back. Is it the palm trees, mild climate or Mickey Mouse that appeal to Americans? Forbes says that it's a combination of all three.
Orlando was also ranked No. 9 in Forbes.com's Best Cities For Singles. Orlando's job growth and affordability were just two of the factors in their decision, the nightlife, culture and coolness also pushed Orlando into the top 10.
I have to agree that Orlando is a great place for singles since I met my husband at Chillers in Downtown Orlando almost 18 years ago, Orlando worked it's Magic on me...
