Don’t be a statistic… Avoid Foreclosure!

You’ll be surprised to learn that many times when a homeowner is in distress they give up, without ever seeking an alternative to foreclosure.  Perhaps they don’t understand the process or feel like they no longer care, help is out there, all you have to do is ask.
I’m sure that it doesn’t feel like it now, but there will come a time when these current financially challenging times will be in the past and because a homeowner chose an alternative to foreclosure, they will be positioned to move on in the … (2 comments)

florida: Longing for the Dog Days of Summer... - 12/14/10 02:59 PM
The Weather Outside is Frightful...
I love living in Central Florida... I wouldn't live anywhere else.
But, when I sometimes complain mention during the summer I'm tired of the heat and I can't wait until it cools off, this isn't what I had in mind. Our average temperature this time of year is 73 degrees, we're not even going to break into the 50's today... THE 50'S!!!!
Note to self... Enjoy the hot Florida Summer!
Stay Warm out there!

Is anyone else experiencing unseasonably cold weather?

florida: Why I Love Living in the Orlando Area: #3 The Beaches - 02/21/09 04:58 PM
Yes, you're right, Orlando is not on the coastline - I noticed.  But, in less than an hour you can be on my favorite Florida beaches in your chair soaking up the sun and listening to the waves crashing on the shore.  The best of both worlds, yes... you just might be onto something.

florida: Why I Love Living In The Orlando Area: #2 - Kennedy Space Center - 01/13/09 10:09 PM

I know, everyone thought I was going to the beach or Disney next... but, I had to make a quick stop at Kennedy Space Center.
Goose Bumps...  That's what you get when you watch the Space Shuttle launch at Kennedy Space Center.  I've been inside the VAB (Vehicle Assembly Building) and been up close to the Shuttle and it's simply amazing.  A real life Space Ship encounter right here in Central Florida.
There is always a feeling of excitement on launch day as you can see the glow of the engine thrusters all the way to Orlando.  I'll never forget the … (6 comments)

florida: Why I Love Living In The Orlando Area: #1 - The Weather - 01/11/09 12:08 PM
Welcome to my new series of posts about "Why I Love Living in Orlando Area"- I moved to Florida in 1986 from Whidbey Island, WA and have never looked back.  What keeps me here? Subscribe to my blog to find out...  You might even start thinking that you want to move to Florida too.
I know it's just not fair to write about the weather at the beginning of January when much of the country is wearing jackets and thermal underwear, but there is something to be said for Florida in the wintertime, it's amazing.  Low Humidity, sunshine and 70 degree temperatures make me happy.  Winter really … (11 comments)

florida: First-Time Home Buyers Ask: Which Comes First... The Chicken or The Egg? - 12/20/08 06:05 PM
I received a referral this week from a first time home buyer I'm currently working with and some very good questions...
Who should her friend contact first - Me or the loan officer that I referred her to?  This first time home buyer already knew from working with me that her friend shouldn't actually look at homes until she finds out what her buying power is and what type of loan she qualifies for first.
You see I ask all Lake Mary home buyers to get Pre-Qualified for a mortgage before we actually go out to look for a home.  Getting pre-qualified for a mortgage is the first step down the road to home ownership and it shouldn't be past by just to see … (3 comments)

florida: Never Give Up: Home Saved from Florida Wildfire By Garden Hoses... Priceless! - 05/14/08 08:18 AM

Yes, this picture is worth a thousand words...
"God Bless Garden Hoses"
I know it's a few days after mother's Day... but this story in the Orlando Sentinel brought me to tears this morning.  A heroic young man who risked his life to save his mother's home from raging wildfires in Palm Bay, FL.
In an era of foreclosures and the stories of people just walking away from their homes due to a loss in value, I'm reminded that some people will do whatever it takes to save something that they love.  A home is so much more than just four walls, it … (10 comments)

florida: Seminole County Homes For Sale - 04/06/08 12:51 PM

It seems to be that everyone is asking the same question... Have we hit the bottom of the market?
It appears that we may have reached the bottom back in January and are hita plateau.  Am I sure that we have hit the bottom and that the market is stabilizing?  No one will know when we have reached the bottom until we are on our way back up, but last months sales do look promising...

florida: Positive Housing News in The Orlando Sentinel: Housing Slump Near Bottom - 03/04/08 08:30 AM
Yes, you read that right... I was surprised to read a positive article this morning in The Orlando Sentinel.  I've seen more articles on the flip side than I care to think about.  Central Florida residents are sure to recognize the name, Arthur Rutenberg of Rutenberg Homes, a custom home builder who has building in the area since the 50's.  Mr. Rutenberg was interviewed and talks about the housing market and equates the long awaited turn-around to the stock market and the fact that no one can call the bottom, you can only see it on the way up.
Mr. Rutenberg … (12 comments)

florida: American Pie Pizza Company - Sanford, Florida - 01/11/08 10:11 PM

We were out yesterday and decided to catch some lunch before we headed back to the home office...  We both love pizza and wings.... they are so good and yet so bad.  I talked Cas into stopping in at the American Pie Pizza Company, I have heard a good buzz about the restaurant and figured we would give it a shot.  The restaurant is alive... streaming music videos on televisions and wireless Playstations in all of the booths (great restaurant for kids too)...
We ordered at the counter and took our place in one of the booths...  I was tempted to play the Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2007, but I was afraid that an 8 year old would beat me.  The service was … (2 comments)
