Last week, after a few days of rain, the skies cleared showing snow covered hills and mountains in the distance. It's one of my favorite scenes in our Northwest landscape and I find myself dreaming - of skiing, sleigh rides and a White Christmas. In the United States, the definition of a "White Christmas," means the ground is covered with at least an inch of snow on the morning of December 25th.

Fishers Landing was named after Solomon W. Fisher. In 1850, Fisher filed land claims on acres of land along the north banks of the Columbia River and Government Island. In the 1800‘s the small community of Fisher and the nearby docks of Fishers Landing, located along the Columbia River, was a port for steamboat, and eventually ferry traffic.
