My entry for the wildflower contest - Beautiful blooms along the highway in Bastrop County, Texas, THEY ARE WILD NOW!
 
Driving down Hwy 71 towards Smithville inBastrop CountyI had to pull over to share this with you all. Of course with spring here, the blue bonnets are out, but this is something that we have not seen in a few years. These loblolly pines are approx. forty to sixty feet tall. This weekend was a busy weekend in Smithville.  There was an antique and art fair, the Jamboree Parade, and lots of people curious to see what "stars" might be out.  There is a movie being filmed in town now and the movie Hope Floats was filmed there, before.I was in town doing a light cleaning of a historic home I have listed for the owners who were out of town.   While I was driving in I passed by so many of the wonderful historic and vintage homes that are in Smithville whos owners have taken advantage of the beautiful spring weather, landscaping their … (3 comments)

Beautiful palomino horse eats his hay like I eat my Oreos, the middle first! This pictrure was taken in the Alum Creek area of Bastrop County Texas.  This is a Walking Horse one of many at The Pecan Grove. 
 

I was driving by the Pecan Grove in Bastrop when I spotted this and it tickled me so much I had to make a U turn and go back for a picture to share with you all.

In Texas many people know the benefits of encouraging Martingales to nest on one's property. Here is a picture of a property in the Cedar Creek area of Bastrop Texas.  As part of wildlife managment and bug control we put up housing for the birds.  In some cases combining a wildlife management program on top of existing agricultural tax status you can get wildlife tax status. Please do yourselves a big health FAVOR! 
Quit using  the deodorant products  that you buy in the supermarket or drug stores! 
Go to your local health food store and buy a  natural product. 
Did you ever read the ingredients of the product that you are using?  Every time you put it on you are putting aluminum under your arms and very close to your lymph glands!   
And...check out the mens deodorant products.  None of them have aluminum in them!  I guess men aren't as worried about "wetness" as women are.

Interesting older Forbes article on the biggest product the US produces....home mortgages - 03/10/08 08:27 AM
My husband and I were thubming through older Forbes magazines looking in particular for an article we had seen on recycling used tires and I stumbled on this article "UNCREATIVE DESTRUCTION"  by Bernard Condon which published in December 2007.
In the article Mr. Condon brings up that our country is so creative, coming up with things like Prozac and the IPod but we cans seem to be creative with mortgages. 
He comments that there have been some variations on the theme such as interest only, and teaser rates but at best these seem to  heighten speculation and risk taking.
