Lake Thunderbird is a small lake community about 7 miles outside of Smithville Texas, approx. 45 minutes from Austin, 2 hours to San Antonio or the Coast.  Lake Thunderbird offers rrelaxed country living with light covenants, volunteer fire department, play ground, and local general store.  This is one of three lake communities in Bastrop County.

A great place to shop for tack for horse enthusiasts in Central Texas - 02/13/09 01:14 PM
I am a horse property specialist  and I work in and around the Austin area out of the Bastrop Sky Realty Office.  I also breed Paint Horses.  My local trainer Devon Rose - DR Showhorses  initiated me into the South Texas Tack fan club.  South Texas Tack is located in Brenham Texas and is a great place to go shopping!  You can get just about anything horse related you might need from tack to supplements, saddles to soaps.  Living in the Austin area it is a great little half day drive and a group of us horse addicts car pool to get our goodies.

Video of Recycle Center in Smithville Texas - 02/13/09 12:45 PM
Smithville  Texas has a recycle center that not too many people are aware of.   When I went to drop off my recycle items I thought I would take a few pictures to share with you via video media.  I presort my recycle materials - Plastics 1 & 2, paper, cans so when I drive in I can just efficiently drop them off.  Takes me a couple of minutes and I feel good about keeping the items out of our local landfills.

McDade Texas a great area in Bastrop County Texas - 02/13/09 12:31 PM
McDade is a quaint town that was founded by the Mundines back in the mid 1800's in Bastrop County Texas.  Now it has a elementary school, fire station, post office, and general store on Main Street.  The closest town is Elgin about 5 minutes away.  Austin is about 30-40 minutes west on Hwy 290.

The Hunters Crossingsubdivision is located in Bastrop at the corner of Hwy 304 and Hwy 71.  Approximately 30 miles from downtown Austin and 15 minutes from ABIA. Ameneties that Hunters Crossing offers include a pool, play area, and pavilion.  It is close to schools and local shopping inBastrop Texas
