As a matter of fact, SouthPark IS the state's 4th largest and is home to some of the best shopping, restaurants and fine homes in the area. SouthPark is one of Charlotte's most desired areas, primarily because it is a live/work community and the commute to Uptown is about as good as you can get without LIVING in Uptown! A regional mall rose from the pasture that it once was in 1970, and is now home to (4 comments)

Charlotte, known as "The Gateway to the South," has more to do that even the native Charlotteans can get to--and there aren't many of those (native Charlotteans) around! The Queen City has become a world-class city right before our very eyes--and there ARE many of those around!
With the city being the nation's second largest banking center, not only is the face of Charlotte ever-changing but, the faces IN the city are as well! So, with the diverse cultural attractions, family attractions, nightlife and professional sports (which (9 comments)
Dilworth, one of the most historical neighborhoods in Charlotte was known the "streetcar suburb," built around Uptown to accommodate trolley commuting. Other 'suburb' areas of Charlotte that were formed along the streetcar lines, extending out from the city, were Elizabeth, Myers Park and Plaza Midwood.
The trolley is a popular attraction to newcomers in Charlotte and is always the highlight of the little ones on the tour! Latta Park was known as the "pleasure resort" was located at the southernmost END of the streetcar line! Latta (4 comments)

The Wall Street firm, UBS Securities, reports that Charlotte's housing market could be among the first market to bounce back. Analysts examined 13 regions, taking into consideration demographics, housing inventory, affordability and other economic factors. Population and job/economic growth helped push Charlotte to the top of the list. Some of the big bank job losses are a concern but, all things considered, growth continues to move upwards.
During the 'big boom' housing market, other areas showed higher appreciation than did Charlotte, leaving Charlotte with a far less price margin to have (11 comments)
"Equal pay for equal work," federal law since the enactment of the Equal Pay Act of 1963. Experts continue the debate of the law's impact. Condo conversions or new development (or resales) in San Diego, Philadelphia, Atlanta and Memphis are areas that I know have complexes nearby but, I'm wondering how they fare with their appreciation.
