The month of October is BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH. Susan G. Komen for the Cure® is challenging the world, "What will you promise?" to help breast cancer research. Susan G. Komen for the Cure has been committed to immediate patient assistance and is in its 26th year in the race for a cure.
The Foundation has committed over $550 million to research scientists alone, to establish a cure! This is the largest commitment to breast cancer research funding by a single nonprofit organization, targeting 81 universities and hospitals in 27 states and five countries, EVER! October is BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH and to start the month, Susan G. Komen for the Cure® announced that the foundation is distributing an unprecedented $100 million has been committed to immediate patient assistance in 2009 alone.
