Speechless Sundays - Fresh Mexican Salad Anyone?
The Kings Drive Farmers Market is finally open again and we couldn't be happier!  Fresh fruits, glorious flowers, delicious veggies, flavorful herbs, fresh, free-range eggs & fresh Carolina coastal seafood are all available for the pickings!
 
 
We opted for a black bean Mexican salad's farmers market ingredients (including flavorful cilantro) and fresh scallops this week. Fresh Mexican Salad anyone?!

Fall farmers markets are in full 'bloom' right now and we're all taking advantage of nature's delights before the cold winter months come rolling in. I don't typically share weekly posts of my farmers market discoveries but, this week, I had to share! 

 
Yes, there were pumpkins EVERYWHERE this week! The colorful pumpkins just screamed at you to grab a dozen or so to use as a wonderful entry display at home. But, my favorite find this week was the butternut squash.

Charlotteans simply can't get over the beautiful weather (including the delayed summer heat and all of the glorious rain), the blooms, and the Carolina blue skies this year. Because of the wonderful weather, lots of area farmers markets continue to yield more delightful produce than usual this time of year. And, the South Carolina peaches have been perfect this year as well!
