Oh, I'm sure everyone has their opinion of real estate agents and particularly, those characteristics that bring our profession's reputation down to one of the least respected of all professions.  My biggest beef with my peers is poor communication. I received an email from a potential customer from my website, looking for an agent to help locate a home for their move to Charlotte.  I responded and began working with this very nice couple who are looking in my area for a home.  We set out to toured the city and about 8 homes in the area.  At the end of the tour, they thanked me and confirmed that we would definitely be partners in this business transaction, more than once, expressed to me that I am their Realtor® here in Charlotte.

We MUST Go To Extremes to Protect Our Sellers' Best Interests Do we go to the same extremes to protect our sellers that we do our buyers?   We dig and dig and do more digging to be 100% sure that the property that our buyers are purchasing property with no hidden defects, no hidden freeways proposed to run through their backyard and even no hidden bugs!

Steering?  You Tell Me.  I Say, BUYER BEWARE. Without breaking the Code of Ethics and calling out one particular firm/agent, I would like to voice my concern about a practice in our business that I feel is completely unethical.
I was recently at a listing interview when the seller asked me what form of compensation my firm is offering our agents to sell our own listings.  Of course, that was all that I needed to hear to realize for whom my competition works!
