I am so excited that spring is finally here! Spring and fall are so beautiful in Missouri that I'm not sure which one I like the best. It looks like it's going to be a beautiful weekend - 50's and 60's - so, I think I'm going to spend as much time outside as possible... What about you??? :)

missouri: O'Fallon, Missouri or O'Fallon, Illinois?

I've been getting confused about the cities in Missouri versus the cities in Illinois. When someone says "O'Fallon", I can't just assume that they're talking about the "O'Fallon" in Missouri. There is also an "O'Fallon" in Illinois. This would be no big deal, except that "O'Fallon" is not the only name that Missouri and Illinois have in common... They both have a city named "Troy", "Springfield", "Columbia"...need I go on..."Eureka", "Farmington"...okay. I'll stop. I actually counted the number of city names that Missouri and Illinois shared, and I believe that it was over 50! I wonder if one state was copying … (6 comments)

Did you know that Missouri has voted for the winning presidential candiate every time since 1900 (except 1956)? Well, this year, John McCain and Sarah Palin won in Missouri. Last night, for my birthday, my husband and I went to the St. Louis Bread Co. (one of my favorite restaurants) in Wentzville, Missouri with 2 of our kids (The other 2 couldn't make it.) and 1 of my nieces!
I'm on the left, my son (Josh - 23) is in the middle, and my niece (Joy - 20) is on the right.
My husband Kevin and our daughter Alisha (19).

Barack Obama was in St. Louis yesterday at the St. Louis Arch. Tomorrow, John McCain will be in St. Charles, Missouri in New Town. It looks like Missouri is a "swing" state. Also, I've heard that whoever wins the vote in Missouri is usually who wins the election. October 9 and 10, 2008, the City of Wentzville will pick up bulky items for its residents. Those living on the north side of the railroad tracks will have their large items picked up Thursday, October 9, 2008. Pickup for residents living on the south side of the railroad tracks will have their bulky items picked up on Friday, October 10, 2008. Is it only me, or do other people dread going to the dentist? I dread it so much that I go as little as possible - once every 5 years or more - even if I'm in some pain.
Why? I think it's because I had a horrible experience when I was 9 years old. The dentist was working on my teeth, and it hurt. I was a very quiet girl (shy) and didn't say anything, but I had tears streaming down my cheeks. He just kept going. It brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it now. … (12 comments)

Tomorrow, October 3, 2008 starts the Wentzville, Missouri Wabash Days. The festivities go through Sunday, October 5, 2008. It is held along West Allen Street in the downtown area.
