I have been inudated with questions regarding rates and fee Structures for Organizers, Redsigners and Stagers. I have answered numerous questions from potential clients and many colleagues about this topic and find it to be never ending. As I look on other sites I more often than not ever find a fee structure on any other sites. Could someone tell me if this is common or is it just our industry is changing so much that everyone is trying to on top of the going rate. I can see clients asking all the time (as they do compare) but unsure why other industries are. It has been known that organizers are price below their valued service and this we are trying to bring up but I think stager, designers etc. are in the right ball park.

I had the best opportunity a few weeks ago. My sister managed to get tickets to go and see the up and coming day time show called "City Line" in Toronto. So my mom, sister and I got everything set up and off we went. Once arriving in Toronto what were three ladies to do? SHOP of course and in Toronto there were shops galore!. We had a blast but my feet were killing me. It decided to snow the next morning so we took a cab to the station for 9:00am.
I was in complete surprise to find the actual studioset was sooooo small. Marilyn Denis was so beautiful and really very nice. The show was interesting and I really learn't alot about the workings of a television show.
We had a great time and when it was over we of course, went and did some more shopping. The flight home was something of a disaster (it snowed so bad we were so stranded in the airport). After 12 hours we managed to get off the runway and on the road back to Calgary (where it was beautiful out). Over all we had a great time.
Here is a clip. Just think a one hour show and you see me a total of 2 seconds.

This years Professional Organizers in Canada conference was fantastic. This three day event was all about jam packed seminars that left you in awe. Providing you with a ton of knowledge, fantastic new ideas for your business from new products, ideas, professional speakers, authors and on and on and on. You were connected with fellow organizers from accross the country and also the U.S.A. A good time was had by all and would not have been such a success if it had not been for all the volunteers, vendors, organizers, the Hotel staff etc.
The Marriott provided great food and accommodations and staff were second to none. Of course Vancouver was beautiful and more so if you have never been. Their city and sites were awesome!!!!!!
Next years POC conference will be held in Toronto and it truly is something to attend, may it be Redesigners, Stagers, Organizers, Vendors or people that are on the fence as to what profession they may pursue in the future.
Here is a picture of the Calgary Chapter group that went to the Conference.
I was coming back from Pincher Creek while working at a clients home and came up upon a cattle drive along the road. How often do you have to share the road with a herd of cows and cowboys? It was nice to see and show that we still do some things the old way.
