In a previous blog, I talked about a new community in Pueblo called Walking Stick Vistas.  This year, one of the homes scheduled in the Parade of Homes was to be a home in this new community.  Unfortunately, the home was never finished in time for the Parade (and it's still not finished).  Yesterday, there was a ground breaking at that location for a newly branded community (now called Panorama at Pueblo, see:  http://imaginepanorama.com) with Denver-based Capital Pacific Homes starting a couple of spec, patio-style homes.  I am excited that investors and builders are optimistic about Pueblo's future.  I am a … (1 comments)

Colorado's largest gun show comes to Pueblo this weekend!  The Tanner Gun show will be at the Colorado State Fairgrounds in the Kitchen Kraft Bldg/Agriculture Palace.  You can browse through approx. 500 tables of guns, knives, and accessories such as ammunition, hunting and fishing equipment, outdoor gear, military surplus, gun safes, and so much more!

pueblo events: 16th Annual Loaf 'N Jug Chile & Frijoles Festival - 24-26 Sep 2010 - 09/23/10 01:51 PM
Every year Pueblo celebrates the harvest of the Mira Sol Chile with the Loaf ‘N Jug Chile & Frijoles Festival.  The festival was created as a fall event to promote the area's agriculture, especially its home-grown chilies and pinto beans.  This fun event now draws over 100,000 visitors.  The festival features a farmer's market (where you can stock up on roasted chilies), battle of the bands, Hot-to-Trot 5K-run/2 mile-walk, jalapeno eating contest, chili & salsa showdown, continuous entertainment, street vendors, and so much more!  The Chile & Frijoles Festival is a MUST SEE!

This is the last weekend for the Colorado State Fair at the Pueblo fairgrounds.  See last week's blog for more info.
If you are going to be in Colorado Springs this weekend, stop by the 34th annual Colorado Balloon Classic at Memorial Park off Pikes Peak Avenue between Hancock Ave. and Union Blvd near the shores of Prospect Lake.  Mass ascensions with over 100 balloons are scheduled for Saturday, Sunday and Monday (Sep 4-6) mornings with a Balloon Glo® scheduled for Saturday and Sunday evenings.  A variety of concessions will be available and entertainment is provided during each event.  Admission is FREE!  … (6 comments)

The 2010 National Little Britches Rodeo Finals will be held at the Colorado State Fair Grounds in Pueblo, July 26 through July 31.  Rodeos will be held twice daily at 9:00AM and 6:00PM with the Championship Round held Saturday, July 31, at 10:00AM.  General Admission is $5.00.  Tuesday night is Military Appreciation night - Active Military and their family get in FREE!  See http://www.nlbra.com/ for more info.

This weekend (September 25-27, 2009) is the 15th Annual Loaf ‘N Jug Chile & Frijoles Festival!
The Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce created the festival to celebrate the harvest of the Mira Sol Chile (otherwise known as the Pueblo Chile) and to promote our area's agriculture, especially its home-grown chilies and pinto beans, as well as to display the works of many talented artisans and crafts people. The festival will take place in downtown Pueblo, at the Union Avenue Historic District, on Union Avenue between 1st and "B" Streets. The Colorado State Fair starts Friday, August 28th and runs through September 7 at the fairgrounds (1001 Beulah Ave) in Pueblo.  In addition to the Rodeo, Monster Trucks, and Demolition Derby, Mutton Bustin', livestock shows, carnival rides and so much more; this year features a Live Shark Encounter and Lumberjack Show.

This coming weekend, you’ll find me at the Billy Pine Barrel Race in Avondale on Saturday and the Pancake Breakfast at the Pueblo West Fire Department fundraiser for the Billy Pine family on Sunday. Billy Pine, a 28-year old Pueblo City Firefighter, has Stage Four terminal colon cancer and fellow firefighters are working to create a trust fund for Billy’s daughter, Sydney. Come out and support this very worthy cause. Saturday’s activities run from 9am to 9pm at the Walk-A-Mile Arena Business Highway 50 E mile marker #14.
