It seems like we've had an extended summer with all the wonderful, warm fall days lately but there is now snow on top of Pikes Peak and a cold front is expected to blow in this weekend.  If you haven't already done the following "get-ready-for-winter" tasks, now is the time:
Furnace:  Have your furnace/heating system serviced by a qualified service company.  Check/clean/replace furnace air filters each month during the heating season.  Fireplace/Wood Stoves:   Inspect fireplace, wood stove and chimneys.  Have each cleaned and serviced as needed. Friday marks the start of the Pueblo Association of Home Builders 2010 Pueblo Parade of Homes.  This year has 11 entries located throughout Pueblo and Pueblo County.  This is a far cry from the dozens of parade homes in years past - an unfortunate sign of the economic times.

The 2010 National Little Britches Rodeo Finals will be held at the Colorado State Fair Grounds in Pueblo, July 26 through July 31.  Rodeos will be held twice daily at 9:00AM and 6:00PM with the Championship Round held Saturday, July 31, at 10:00AM.  General Admission is $5.00.  Tuesday night is Military Appreciation night - Active Military and their family get in FREE!  See http://www.nlbra.com/ for more info.

There are lots of fun activities planned in Pueblo West to celebrate the 4th of July!
The first thing I'll be doing is walking in the Liberty Point 5K run/walk at 7:30.  You can register online at http://www.pueblounitedway.org or go to the registration booth at the race start (corner of Purcell and Joe Martinez Blvds) starting at 6:30a.m. on Sunday the 4th.  Proceeds benefit the United Way of Pueblo County.

pueblo west homes: Happy New Year! - 12/31/09 08:46 AM
I'm happy to say goodbye to 2009 which has been a challenging year for home buyers and sellers.  I feel confident that 2010 will be much better.  The First Time Homebuyer $8000 tax credit has been extended into 2010.  There is now a new, $6500 tax credit for move up/down homebuyers.  Mortgage interest rates are still low (although starting to creep upwards).  Most of the foreclosure inventory is off the books and I believe that local home prices have bottomed out and will start to slowly rise.
