I had mentioned earlier this week that I had 2 closings on Monday....
One of these closings hadn't been easy...
It was a HUD owner occupant sale with an escrow hold back....
Finding a lender who was willing to do an escrow hold back and
not complete the loan as an FHA 203k was a challenge
But we found Brent Kotter at First Mortgage in Nampa Idaho....
NO Sweat....the loan was done in record time
Because of all of the hassles in purchasing this relocation home in a new area for my client

Had this at a recent family Potuck....
It was so refreshing and actually very healthy....
Enjoy!!!
I think it is best made up the day or 2 before serving!
Cucumber Pasta Salad
Thinly slice 2-3 cucumbers into a bowl.
Chop fine a sweet onion...Walla Walla or Vidalia
Mix together a heaping tablespoon of Mustard, 3/4 cup white vinegar, 1/2 cup water, salt and pepper,and a tablespoon or 2 of sugar or Splenda.
optional add a handful of fresh basil chopped fine.
Pour the liquid mixture over the onions and cucumbers.
Let sit at least 3 hours to marinate!

It was only a couple of paragraphs....
(surprising as they like to sensationalize this type of news...)
The article's headline stated
"Home Sales on Pace to be Worst in 14 years"
Don't know about you....and your market....
we know Real Estate is Local....
and maybe we won't sell as many homes this year....
But I do know that personally I am busy...
Busier than I have been in recent years....
Why?
Because I haven't bought into the hype...

Had a great surprise on Sunday......
My neighbor screwed in all of the pickets on my fence...
We put the fence up about 12 years ago when we moved in as we wanted to keep the neighbor kids out of our yard!
My newest neighbor is a great guy....but he doesn't much care for yard work....
So the roses that I used to have lining the picket fence....
Well I had my brother adopt them last weekend.
Because the neighbor wouldn't weed eat along the fence the grass and weedswere abundant around my roses....

Our Annual 4th of July Potluck of Fun Pictures!!! - 07/05/11 06:52 PM
Yesterday was another fun filled day!
About 5 years ago my brother and sister...who live across the lane from each other and their other 2 neighbors decided that the 4th of July deserved a huge celebration!
The 9 kids who lived out there were young so the parents rented a jump house for the kids....
We all had lunch together ...and then a huge potluck supper....
In between we had a scavenger hunt for the kids and the adults played horse shoes...
The evening extended and we had a huge baseball game....2 teams with everyone playing....so there might be 15-20 on … (4 comments)

What a trip down "memory lane"
Mom and Dad and another couple headed over to Boise on Saturday for the
LeBois Horse Races
The LeBois Horse Racing Track has been quiet since 2008 when racing was stopped!
After much debate about how appropriate Horse Racing was this past spring it was decided to resume the races!
The big question was "IS the Treasure Valley wanting Horse Racing?"
Many didn't think so.....
However as Mom and Dad retold their tale
They and over 7600 others attended the horse races on Saturday Night!

For many that is taken for granted!
We should never forget what this means.....

The ability to argue with others about politics....
The ability to be small business owners....
The ability to own our own homes
and so much more!
Let us not forget that these freedoms have a cost!

Oh so many options to celebrate our Nations Birthday!!!
You have so many choices this year that it will be difficult to choose
Caldwell will start the day with a parade...then plenty of booths and fun things for the entire family the festivities will end with Fireworks at dusk at the Simplot Stadium.
Boise will have a celebration at Ann Morrison Park....activities will include kids activities beginning at 8 am....a Chalk Art Festival, Fireworks will begin at 10:15 at the park!

Yep .....yummy Raspberries....
This spring has been so cool and wet here in Nampa Idaho that my berries have went crazy! I think this will end up being the best year for the berries in the 10 years I have had them!
I am always amazed at how they grow year after year and I get berries for free,,,
Especially when I see the cost of them in the grocery store!
I love these sweet red gems on my oatmeal or on a salad!!!
