Is solar power right for you?

Are you considering having solar power installed on your home?  Do you buy it out right or do you sign a lease? How long will the lease be good for? Is it a graduated lease?  These are just a few of the questions you need to ask before you make that final decision.
As a homeowner, we want to do improvements on our homes that will either increase the value of our homes or at the least help to maintain it's value.  Solar is one of those items that is becoming … (2 comments)

scottsdale: Do you need to snake proof your dog? - 02/18/13 06:33 AM
Do you need to snake proof your dog?

Every Year I hear stories of pets that have been bitten by a rattlesnake.  Some survive and some don't.  Well, this year is no different.  Except, that it seems to be starting earlier than usual.
I recently read a post from my veterinarian that they already have several snake bite victims in the hospital.  This is leading them to believe that this is going to be a bad year for snake bites.
Dr Cliff Faver of Animal Heal Services has written a blog on rattlesnake fallacies.
•Rattlesnake bites are always fatal
•Baby rattlesnakes … (4 comments)

scottsdale: Tramonto July 2012 Is The Frenzy Almost Over - 07/16/12 08:42 AM

      Is the Frenzy almost over?

A couple months ago I wrote an article called the "Phoenix Market is Hot Again." Inventory was declining at an incredible rate and demand was high. The truth is that demand has been high. Nobody really noticed it because our inventory had been so high for so long. Cash Buyers and Investors have been very busy buying up properties and turning them into rentals. Rental properties have been in high demand because of all the people that have lost their homes to Short Sales or Foreclosure.
Here we are three months later. Inventory … (5 comments)

scottsdale: Traveling with your Pets - 07/06/12 12:03 AM

Traveling with your Pets?

Summer vacation is here.  Are you thinking about taking your pets with you?  Have you thought about where they will ride?  The recent roll over car accident of a well known Dog Agility trainer, who lost two of her dogs in the accident, has brought this issue to light.
Do you wear seatbelts?  Do your kids wear seatbelts?  What about your pets?  Seatbelts have been known to save lives.  So why do we put our kid’s in seatbelts and not our pet’s.   Pet’s are part of our family’s, right?  Wouldn’t you and your family … (5 comments)

B of A to offer up to $30,000 in relocation assistance.. True or False

Well, actually a little bit of both.  They are offering $2,500 to $30,000 in relocation assistance.  However, there are a couple of criteria to determine if you are eligible and this is a limited time offer.

1st.  Your Realtor must initiate a Short Sale without an offer.
2nd  You must participate in one of the preapproved price Short Sale programs, such as HAFA (Home Affordable Foreclosure Alternatives) or Bank of America’s proprietary program.

There are a couple things you should know.
1st The relocation … (5 comments)

Things you didn't know about Memorial day

I recently read an article that helped me to really understand what it is all about.
Things like, it was originally called Decoration day and that the North and South originally celebrated separate Memorial Days. How about the fact that at 3 PM on Memorial Day is the “National Moment of Remembrance.  And that the 21-gun Salute Doesn’t come from adding up the numbers 1-7-7-6.

It is a wonderful article, that I would encourage everyone to read it

scottsdale: I Miss Him Already - 05/19/12 07:06 AM

I Miss Him Already.
His name was “Autry”.  He was such a silly boy, goofy ears and a little plump around the middle.  He drove my dogs crazy.  Always wanting to play.  Always chewing on their ears.

But they have a way of creeping into your heart.  I said I would not get attached.  I liked him, but I didn’t feel like we had that special bond.

So today, he had his adoption appointment.  A nice man with two young kids came to see him.  We talked about his little idiosycrasies.  He is like a two year old, … (11 comments)

scottsdale: Lost Our Home Pet Foundation - 05/11/12 11:50 AM

Lost Our Home Pet Foundation was started by Jodi Polanski.  She kept running into Realtors that found abandoned pets inside foreclosed homes.  These pets belonged to people that have had to foreclose on their homes or had to give up their pets because of financial challenges.  They have grown over the years and have rescued over 2,000 pets and over 8,000 have been fed.

They started out as a primary resource for Real Estate professionals and other members of the community who discover an abandoned pet, and to provide options for pet owners faced with difficult economic … (3 comments)

scottsdale: I am buying a "NEW" Home. Should I do home inspection - 05/07/12 08:48 AM

I am buying a "NEW" Home.  Should I do a home inspection.

That is a really good question.  At the very least you should have the building inspected before the application of the drywall.  This enables the inspector to examine the details of the structure, items that would then be hidden by the drywall.  Item’s such as framework, support beams, electrical and plumbing rough out and roof venting just to name a few.  If a deficiency is noted, it can be repaired prior to the drywall being installed.

Some common deficiencies might be defective lumber, improperly … (30 comments)

scottsdale: Happy St Patrick's Day - 03/17/12 06:49 AM

Happy St. Patrick’s Day.

I know there is a little bit of Irish in me.  OK maybe more than a little.  My Dad was Irish.  But it wasn’t until today that I thought I would look into the real meaning.  So here are a few interesting tidbits I found in the San Diego news.
It is in honor of the most regularly recognized of the patron saints of Ireland, St. Patrick, and his role in bringing Christianity to Ireland.
Not a whole lot is known about St. Patrick. One estimate has him living from AD 387-461, but no … (8 comments)

Watch out for Rattlesnakes

Spring is just around the corner.  This year it arrives on March 20th.  So I guess that means technically it is still winter.  But you couldn't tell it by our beautiful Sonoran Desert in Phoenix, Arizona weather.

We are not the only ones to enjoy the warmth of the sun.  In fact this is the time of year that all the little critters start to come out of the holes and bask in the sun.  I don't worry about most of the critters, but the Rattlesnakes, now that is a different story.  Rattlesnakes … (10 comments)
