Today is Veterans Day Veterans are important to us 365 days of the year, not just today. I am blessed to work in an area that is Veteran-rich since I live near Fort Campbell, KY. Many Veterans choose to retire here in Clarksville, TN because of the low cost of living and military facilities close by. The community embraces them and shows them how much they mean to all of us.

The military has announced the new pay schedule for housing for our soldiers at Ft. Campbell. This is great news for our military personnel and will help greatly when trying to buy a house.
This payment is added to the base salary and other allocations for specialties or hazard pay. With home prices so affordable in Clarksville, a soldier can buy a home with no money down on his VA loan and the housing allowance will most likely cover the payment and utilities.

I Give Thanks for Our Military I live in a military town and every day I am reminded how important our military are to our country. I see the families affected by separation, by worry and stress and children that miss their parents at important school and social events. Our military servicemen are on call day and night. It isn't a given that they will get holidays off or get to spend time with their families. I know that first hand because my Navy son doesn't get to come home for many holidays. Clarksville TN is a military town located next to Ft. Campbell KY and home to the 101st Airborne Division. This is one of the first groups to deploy during wartime conditions.
