photography: Accent the Interior's Good Features - 10/31/17 07:21 PM
Volume Ceiling, Spiral Staircase
My listing was custom built in the woods so I wanted to accent how open and bright the inside could be and show the special feature of the spiral staircase. The living room is so roomy and open to the kitchen. This photo shows you can have privacy with sunshine created by skylights and plenty of windows.

The showing activity was phenomenal and buyers looking for something unique and different made offers.

The sellers had the difficult time of deciding between multiple offers but found the right fit with the buyers that are currently under contract. One of the comments from the … (14 comments)

photography: 10 Day Thanksgiving Post Challenge - 11/15/16 04:58 AM

Only 10 days to go and we will be celebrating Thanksgiving Day. This day is different for everyone depending where your family is located and your traditions. I know it is one of my favorite holidays of the year.

One thing we all have in common is that we are incredibly blessed. I am issuing a challenge to all. Starting today and each day until Thanksgiving Day write a post about something you are thankful for. It can be big or it can be small. Oftentimes the smallest blessings give the biggest joys.

Voicing our blessings makes them come to life and gets … (395 comments)

photography: Throwback Thursdays - Alaska Reflections - 11/10/16 09:53 AM
Travel to the 49th State
I was blessed to be able to visit Alaska last summer and travel from Vancouver up the coast to Anchorage and then inland to Fairbanks. Alaska is one of the most gorgeous of all the states in the U.S.
This photo was taken on the train ride from Seward to Anchorage. It was evening but the sun was still strong. The shadows this time of day created beautiful reflections on the lake.
I used my new Canon SX250 and loved the tremendous clarity and zoom it had. I barely sat in my seat for that 2 hour ride because … (34 comments)

The Do’s of Taking Good MLS Photos

Taking good MLS photos can mean the difference between getting your listing sold and it lingering on the market. If you don't want to spend the money on professional photography then you had better make sure the photos match up with the quality of the listing. There are some simple tricks that will make the photos you take look better than totally amateur shots and better than a lot of your competition.

Most agents can use a little help when taking photos of their listings unless of course they are using a professional to do it. Here are some excellent tips to help raise the quality of your photos closer to what the professionals produce.

photography: The Whole Truth About My New Profile Photo - 08/29/13 02:52 PM
The Whole Truth About My New Profile Photo. I have been noticing over the last few weeks that many of our Members have changed out their photos with a newer fresher more up to date profile photo. Some Members looks changed drastically with new hairstyles, new backgrounds and even a different smile or expression. My photo needed updating.
On Tuesday and Thursdays my tech assistant works for me and we use these days to take home photos, do videos and update web pages. When I arrived at the office I decided that today might be a good day to get a more … (53 comments)

photography: Why Do Agents Put Such Poor Photos in MLS? - 11/16/12 11:24 PM
Why Do Agents Put Such Poor Photos in MLS?
I was attending a photography class in another town when one of my classmates asked Why do agents put such poor photos in MLS? She added before I could answer that some were dark, some were blurry and looked off balance and didn’t their seller’s care that they were so bad?I thought a moment before I answered. I said that many agents are point and shooters. They probably have an all-in-one camera and probably haven’t learned how to use the settings. They take their photos quickly so they can move on to their next task. … (30 comments)

photography: What I Learned In My First Photography Class That Everyone Should Know - 08/13/12 06:37 AM
What I Learned In My First Photography Class That Everyone Should Know. I just attended my very first photography class and I can tell you it was way overdue. I have been taking photos for my real estate listings for 32 years and done a fairly good job. I am the designated photographer at family functions because I always seemed to get the better shots. On vacation, I am the one who volunteers to take the stranger’s group photos so all of them can be in the shot.
So why did I feel like I needed a class? I have seen the … (17 comments)
