real estate market: Changed Real Estate Companies/Brokers-Brutal Process - 04/15/18 03:03 AM
I recently changed companies. I made an educated business decision and decided to transition from a traditional company and relocate my real estate business  to an independent franchise. My ultimate goal is to become a Broker and hang my own shingle-but baby steps for now! However, the process was brutal. I was unable to get paid on transactions, unable to retain my listings, and my reputation and character was smeared and questioned-unethically.  However, if I had the opportunity to re-think my decision and do it again-Yes I would absolutely do it again. My advice to those of you thinking of moving to a … (4 comments)

real estate market: Property Coin is the new Bitcoin for Real Estate - 02/15/18 09:09 PM
It's exciting times in the world of technology and real estate. A new cryptocurrency called property coin will hit the market in a few weeks. It was built on a blockchain platform similar to bitcoin. The future is here Realtors. Title companies will soon be obsolete and real estate will transfer via a click of a mouse. Are you afraid? I'm not. Change is inevitable.

The concept is interesting. Aperture Real Estate Ventures is the genius behind property coin. The currency will be back by real estate investments and loans from the investment company-which as the companies holdings increase so will the coins value.  The … (3 comments)

real estate market: Agents who cut their Real Estate Commission are poor salespeople - 07/24/17 05:28 AM
Agents who cut their Real Estate Commission can't sell themselves out of a paper bag, so forget about them being able to sell your home successfully. Here's Why?
1. They have poor negotiating skills
2.The usually will offer poor service.
3. They will probably overprice your home.
4. They usually offer less Market Exposure/Advertising/Open House
5. They don't use Internet or much technology.
6 They will not spend any money on the listing.
7.They usually do a poor job on House Brochures/Buyer Handouts.
8. They are weak in negotiating the offers and home inspections for sellers.
9. They lack experience at overcoming objections of Buyers.
10. They lack experience in solving transaction problems.
11. They … (2 comments)

real estate market: Unethical Agents, Brokers, Lenders - 07/20/17 01:05 AM
After surviving an 8-day settlement process, I wish to no longer cooperate with real estate agents that are not Realtors. The difference in my opinion is ethics and honesty. I do not know if that is a possibility with the MLS rules, but if not, I will surely advocate for such a thing. Why? Cooperating with agents that are free from following the Code of Ethics that we as Realtors pledge to follow is very frustrating. It makes the transaction process so much more difficult with having to decipher and read through lie after lie.
My seller and I received a settlement … (4 comments)

real estate market: My Dad dying and real estate - 05/07/17 01:36 AM
My Dad has passed away the afternoon of May 5th, 2017. What does this have to do with my real estate career? Well one word, everything.
My Dad, who I call Pops, was not in my life early on. He left us when I was born. But before he left, he made sure that my Mother did not name me Rosemary Jr. and I am forever grateful for that. As an adult we connected and established a relationship.  Even though that relationship was rocky and sometimes filled with anger and resentment, I'm grateful for it. I have long forgiving my Pops for missing … (3 comments)

real estate market: Snapchat and Real Estate - 03/08/17 03:46 AM
Snapchat went public last week with a huge bang, but since then it's stock price has dropped by 11%. The biggest problems facing the stock is the inability of shareholder input and most important it's inability to connect with older potential users.
What does this have to do with real estate?
I personally believe that it can be a huge opportunity for real estate agents to get in on the ground floor of this popular medium for teenagers and twentysomethings.  As an agent you can use Snapchat to post listing videos and open house video announcements. No more are the days of "If  … (9 comments)
