I have been hearing about Del.icio.us and wasn't sure what it was. I recently started using it to help catalog interesting articles that I may write about and it's been very useful. I wanted to send a reminder to the Active Rain community about this tool. There are great previous blog posts about it from other ActiveRainers. The Psychology of Losing: How Bad Deals Can Be Avoided - 02/16/07 10:12 AM
One of my investors has a deal in Houston where he's rehabbing an apartment complex and will sell it in a few years at a great profit. He often comes across homes under $80k that he can fix up and sell after doing just a little with the carpet and paint. As I talked about how booming his business is, it made me wonder why I don't see those deals as often in the Austin market. San Antonio and Houston have typically been the types of markets where investors can find low-cost homes, fix, and flip them for tens of thousands

Apple and McDonalds Taught Me How to Succeed in Real Estate - 02/07/07 01:09 PM
My first job ever was at McDonalds Restaurant when I was a freshman in high school. I specialized in the drive-thru. I was the blaring voice who asked if I can take your order while you stared at a bright menu board outside. I enjoyed my years at Mcdonalds because I was able to make people happy each day with little effort. All I had to do was get the order right and avoid handing out cold french fries. If life was that simple, we'd all be less stressed. My last job (before entering real estate), was as a Global Project Manager
