The city of Daphne, Alabama, as part of the trailblazers walking biking trail, built what was to become a favorite attraction of visitors and residents alike. We call it alligator alley. It is a walking trail that travels alongside D'Olive Creek, then meanders along the bay, and finally under the interstate and up a steep hill to Lookout Point, a visitor information center for the Eastern Shore of Mobile Bay in Baldwin County, Alabama.

See. Ida was a true annoyance. I knew she would be and I am thankful that she was an annoyance and not a full fledged November hurricane. She was a little blustery, a lot of rain and quick to leave an visit someone else. Today? Beautiful outside. See for yourselves. I was really hoping some of her blusteriness would help me with my yard work and blow some, well a lot really, of the dying leaves away. But no. She couldn't even do that.

My heart breaks when people toss their animals away or they are abandoned for some reason or other. Our office is located on a major busy north south corridor in Daphne, Alabama, so it is a bit odd, and mercifully cool, that behind our office is a patch of woods that shades the porch surrounding our building. The back porch is one of my favorite places at the office. Behind that is an apartment complex. I figure these animals that we have adopted and care for, mostly feral now, came from there. Christi and I saw this precious little family about a week ago, along Highway 181 at the pond on a farm site. I guess they lost their way home, because, really they should be in Canada, or some other place far north of here this time of year. Enjoy.
Here you can see there are two goslings - and, they are strolling away from me and my camera. I am quite a distance away, and using a zoom, but still...,they aren't comfortable with that. And who can blame them, really.

I spent the day in Ottawa Springs, in Daphne again today and it was a beautiful spring day, just the kind of day you expect before the rains roll through. It was sunny and a bit breezy, perfectly cool morning, warm midday and cool again in the afternoon.

Today, I am reflecting on working with FSBO's here in Baldwin County. Boy, oh boy are they ever an adventure in and of itself!
Christi and I are usually on the phone or knocking on their doors withing a week of the sign going up in their yard, because we truly and deeply believe that these inexperienced sellers need assistance. I have found two things to be true regarding their asking prices:
1. FSBO properties are usually priced too high, or
2. FSBO properties are usually priced too low.
