Peak-a-Boo, I see you! And, Skip to the Loo! Two Real estate Photography games we all play. - 11/30/09 09:37 PM
Ever played Peak-a-boo in the loo??
I had to laugh at myself last week. I did a pre-market staging consultation, snapped some photos for the Recommendation Report that I would email later, and finished up with my meeting. When I got home to write up my report, I took a look at the photos and saw this in the pile:

(Side note: this is not my "professional" grade photography! These were just quick photos for the purpose of discussing different areas needing to be addressed with the home owner.)
But has this ever happened to you?!
I laughed especially hard because this … (25 comments)

Let’s Talk Turkey . . . Forget Pear-Shaped! Are You "Chair-Shaped"??! - 11/27/09 09:15 AM
One of my goals this Fall has been to up my web presence. Thanks to ActiveRain, my efforts seem to be paying off!
That's the good news.
The bad news, however, is that I'm sick to death of so much sitting! I mean, one of the things I really like about my job/business is that I get to be active. Even when I do my photography, I get a bit of a *glow*. (Can anyone say Uh, towel needed in your kit?! Oh, and be warned . . . no other interpretations need apply.)
The solution? My loving Hubby has had … (24 comments)

A Sober Reminder Of All We Have To be Thankful For! Happy Thanksgiving America! - 11/25/09 10:52 AM
Another great reminder and attitude adjustment. Happiness, contentment and striving are all a challenging balance. Somehow we need to be content where we are, while striving to do and be better.
Happy Thanksgiving, all.

'Twas the month before Clutter-mas (Warning: Reading this may result in an uncomfortable feeling) - 11/24/09 07:44 AM
‘Twas the month before Clutter-mas, and all through the houseNot a creature could find anything, barely even their spouse. The stockings were hung by the chimney with greed, hoping for things that they didn't even need. The children were nestled with lumps ‘round their beds,While visions of Mortal Kombat danced through their heads.Mamma had her list made for quite a long time,Clothing, perfume, and purses - all the latest designs. When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,I sprang from the bed but tripped on a ladder. How did that get there? Oops, I've forgotten!Out of mind now that I've stepped on somethin' rotten!I … (65 comments)

How do you know the BEST place to post a Blog entry? - 11/23/09 01:34 PM
Okay, so I'm still relatively new here. I've toured around, found a few groups, made a few friends, and even got past the intimidation to start blogging a few posts. I kinda hang out with the home stagers and photographers . . . need I explain? And I've met lots of super people through those groups.
However, when I read some featured posts, or "comment reciprocate" with those who have taken the time to do the same on my blog posts, I keep discovering a multitude of places and people and dimensions here on ActiveRain. There is so much here--it goes … (15 comments)

What difference can a Professional Home Stager make in 3 hours?? - 11/19/09 12:07 PM
What difference can a Stager make in 3 hours??
Here are some Before and After photos from a recent Power Staging. The Realtor who referred me felt the property lacked a little pizzazz and appeal for the typical home buyer in this middle-class SW Calgary neighborhood. I had visited the home the week before and brought along some artwork and pillows (we had an inexpensive rental agreement for these items). Otherwise, I worked with all the home owner's stuff and we mostly just rearranged furniture . . . and, of course, de-cluttered!

Asking Santa for a new camera for Real Estate Photography? Here are a few things to Consider . . . - 11/16/09 01:59 PM
Asking Santa for a new camera for Real Estate Photography? Keep reading . . .
With about a gazillion different digital cameras out there, how do you even begin to narrow down the choices? With my experience as a professional real estate photographer, hopefully I can provide you with some useful guidelines of the features that are the most important for photographing your properties.
The More MegaPixels the Better . . . Right?
No, not necessarily. Though MegaPixels may appear to be the "muscle" of a digital camera . . .

Just Do It! Decluttering for Your Mental Health - 11/12/09 11:57 AM
I love sleeping. Nothing makes me feel better than having that full 8 hours, and then just greeting the day full of energy and appreciation for all things good in life. Unfortunately, more often than not, this is more of a "dream" than reality!
Yesterday I woke up earlier than I needed to (groan), as I have been doing for too long now. I had a headache, I was hungry, and there were a million things running through my mind that I needed to attend to. I usually walk every morning, but since I felt so crummy, I thought I'd just grab … (16 comments)

ReMax Canada, "Are You Fit to Sell?" Campaign - What it means for Sellers and Home Stagers - 11/03/09 11:49 AM
Are you fit to sell?
I was preparing dinner a few weeks ago and had the weather channel on to catch the week's forecast. My mind was kind of tuned out as I was running down the list of the comings and goings in our household for that evening. Before I even got as far as "drum lessons", I was immediately reeled back in to the present by those five words . . . are you fit to sell?
I couldn't believe it! This is my mantra. I've lived and breathed this for much longer than I've even had my … (5 comments)
