As many of you know I have followed the work of Frank Lloyd Wright for many years. In my home I have several pieces of his furniture and accessories. It is about an hours' drive from my home at Deep Creek Lake.
 There is another home close by, that is another Frank Lloyd Wright masterpiece.  It of course is not the masterpiece of Fallingwater, but it is interesting and one of the last homes to be completed by Wright. What we think is an already great web site will soon have some more unique changes.  Sam and I have hired Lance Bell and his office to take our this site and some improvements are already in the works. They are amazing and talanted designers.

WinterFest, Deep Creek Lake Area, Oakland, Maryland - 02/27/09 01:20 PM
I had a chance to visit the second annual WinterFest in Oakland, Maryland last weekend and was surprised at the level of talent, ice sculptors from across the country, and the excitement being displayed by the children who attended.  The new Lowes store in Oakland contributed a massive ice carving, complete with an ice sliding board.  Judy Devlin's Book Market had an ice sculptor performing in front of her book store, that was designed and remodeled by her husband's firm, Devlin, Inc.  You have to stop by her book store, it is an experience for all age groups.

Deep Creek Lake in Garrett County is simply one of the most unique places in Maryland. If you have not been to Deep Creek Lake recently, you are missing some pretty cool stuff! Take for instant the Mountain Coaster, which is open all year round, weather permitting.  I don't like Roller Coasters but was challanged by my family and friends to ride this.  I have to tell you that I embarressed myself and all around me, as I screamed all the way down," I am never going to do this again", "Oh my God"!  Now there are breaks you can use to slow down, but my thinking was, without using the breaks, I would get down … (3 comments)

Our new web site Deep Creek Lake 360.com was launched this week.  On Friday we met with Lance Bell and Colby Ellsworth of AAD Design in Cumberland Maryland and the company will be taking over our web site in the next few weeks.  We have had lots of compliments on this site and we have a feeling that it is only going to get better, with this type of talent helping us.

Last week some of my co-workers and I had lunch out of the office.  We grabbed some sandwiches at Arrowhead and ate lunch at Silver Ridge, off 219. On the way back to the office we saw something awesome.  Kites flying first caught our attention.  Then we realized that the people holding the kites were moving.  They were on skis!  What is this?  No one seemed to know.  The day was overcast so that we felt we could not get good photos and passed on trying.  Oh, I wish we had gotten those photos or at least tried. I am in Northern Virginia this week and had lunch today at Moe's.  I love that place and it is always packed. They actually have a decent menu of Mexican Food.  I found I had some great choices for lunch, even when trying to watch my calories and eating vegetarian!!
