Can you imagine walking out of your backdoor to find this laying in your backyard sunning itself?  This 28 foot 1 inch alligator was shot in the backyard of a home between Lakeland and Winter Haven Florida.  Florida has been known for it's gators but I don't think one of this size has ever been captured and killed until now.  Notice the game warden Joe Goff is 6' 5" tall walking beside this beast!  Makes you want to re-think swimming in lakes in Florida now doesn't it?
