Lessons in Direct Mail and the Unexpected Client - 02/16/08 03:20 PM
Lessons in Direct Mail For several years I've been sending post cards out to folks who purchased property in Pueblo West. Many of the lots were purchased 20-25-30 years ago. Few, if any did anything with the land, most bought it for investment purposes. But now years later the owners are getting ready to retire, some have passed, others are just re-evaluating their ownership. But sadder still is that many of these property owners are being approached to sell with offers to buy pennies on the dollar. I have been sending post cards out periodically to mostly out of town owners (9 comments)

Every town in America probably has it's own food specialty, San Francisco is known for it's fish, Seattle for it's coffee, St. Louis for it's BBQ and Miami for it's Mojitos. Pueblo Colorado: Hail Storm information - 02/11/08 06:42 PM
Pueblo, Co had a late season storm which produced large and damaging hail. Many homeowners have not yet had a chance to get their roofs repaired. Here are some things homeowners should know before signing a contract. First call local supply companies or building departments and ask for references. They know which companies can be trusted and which ones should be avoided. Never work with a contractor who wants you to pull a permit for them. This most likely means they are not licensed in the area or have had some problems with the building department. If they ask for money (6 comments)
Westcliffe Winters - 02/10/08 01:15 PM
Winters in Colorado aren't for everybody. If you aren't use to driving on the snow, being with out electricity on occasion or don't want the isolation of not being able to get out from time to time Colorado mountain living isn't going to be your cup of tea.
But if you are self sufficient, can entertain yourself, work from home and enjoy the beauty of being out of the loop - Custer County and Colorado Mountain living may work out for you.

Buying a house is like dating - don't rush the process - 02/03/08 03:20 PM
This post is inspired by Jeff Dowlers post comparing selling a house to baking a cake. It's a great post, in case you missed it here it is. Jeff got me thinking about how buying a house could be compared to dating. Let's admit it, both are usually a nerve racking experience. And everybody is giving you advice or their opinion whether it's asked for or not. Any of us can go on line and visit a cyber dating site. In cyber space we can narrow down what we think we want in a companion. How tall the person is, what (45 comments)
