All the real estate listings you find there now are updated every 15 minutes so you can be sure you have the most current information on homes for sale in the Iowa City area. I don't reblog very often, but Cynthia has put together a really important post here with valuable information. Checking your tires is a serious matter all year round and that goes double in winter.

21 homes sold in North Liberty in October 2010 compared to 35 homes sold in October 2009. The expiration of the homebuyer tax credit has certainly had a negative impact on the North Liberty real estate market. Fortunately North Liberty has done very well in the last couple of years as one of the fastest growing towns in Iowa, so there's no reason to think it won't bounce back fairly quickly. Especially considering the low interest rates and "winter prices" on houses right now.

13 homes sold in Coralville in October 2010 compared to 18 homes sold in October 2009. Not very encouraging numbers considering home sales in Coralville were up last month. We have a very choppy market at the moment, making it difficult to analyze short term data. One thing remains constant though - It continues to be a great market for buyers!

43 homes sold in Iowa City in October 2010 compared to 54 homes sold in October 2009. That's a 20% decrease over last year - A pretty strong sign that the Iowa City real estate market is still struggling to find its feet again after the expiration of the home buyer tax credit. The economy is improving, interest rates are still in the low 4's and there are great deals to be had on homes. Nothing relieves stress more than seeing pets play, (except maybe seeing kids play that is).
