denver go green: Living in Highlands Ranch - Recycle Computers & Electronics Right Now - 08/23/08 01:57 PM
I posted early in the week and the Highlands Ranch Computers & Electronics Recycling Event is going on right now. The event is free (small charge for televisions). I brought my stuff over this morning and it was quite impressive. So much STUFF. I brought an old printer, some phones and an old broken PDA. The recycling event goes on until 1pm - don't miss it, head over now - it could be at least 6 months or so before the next one. New Listings in Highlands Ranch, Colorado Steve Scheer, RE/MAX

denver go green: Living in Highlands Ranch - Recycle Computers & Electronics in Highlands Ranch Town Center - 08/16/08 03:53 PM
Its the time of year to recycle your electronic and computers. The HRCA routinely organizes this event and it couldn't be coming at a better time for me. We did have one CPU go "Poof" this year - so it is a great opportunity to get rid of it and out of my house - in proper & safe way. The event is free, however this time around optional donations that are suggested at $20 will be taken for the Highlands Ranch Community Scholarship Fund or the Highlands Ranch Cultural Association. There is a nominal fee of $15 to recycle small

denver go green: Another Company Bringing Jobs to Denver! - 08/16/08 12:11 AM
As announced in various sources this morning, Vestas American Wind Technology, Inc. will be building 2 factories in Brighton and bringing many new jobs to Colorado - 1350 of them. Vestas already has a plain Windsor and has chosen Brighton partly because of its proximity to the existing plant. The announcement furthers the renawable energy business in Colorado that continues to grow here. Now Brighton certainly isn't in my regular area that I help homeowners in the Denver area, I typically service the South Metro Denver real estate market. But I wanted to post about this anyway - this is a

denver go green: Earth Day 2008 - 04/22/08 04:12 PM
This won't be my usual Denver real estate post - but it is in its own way. I live here and I work here and this is my Earth Day post. I have to admit in the now distant past I haven't been the most aware when it comes to "green" & environmentally friendly. And I am not by any means claiming to be the be-all know-all on this. In fact I do have much room for improvement in both my business & my family life. But I am trying. Some of the things that I have done in the

denver go green: Denver Will Go Dark For 'Earth Hour' - 03/28/08 01:09 PM
I have been busy this week, and a little out of the loop, but just this morning I was reading an article on-line about Earth Hour. Apparently tomorrow, Saturday March 29th at 8pm worldwide - many cities are encouraging local businesses and in some cases, residents, to go dark for one hour. Denver is no exception and Denver's Mayor has encouraged Denver's residents and business to take part. I like the idea. I am the type of person that often delves deep into thought, and I can say that there have been many a times that I have wondered, driving around at

denver go green: Yet Another Company To Relocate to Denver - Environment Friendly Too! - 03/27/08 07:18 PM
And yet another company has announced their plans to relocate to the Denver area - this time from Austin, Texas. Yesterday, Austin based Renewable Energy Systems Americas, Inc. (RES-Americas) announced that their corporate headquarters for their renewable energy company will be moving to Broomfield. I think it is absolutely fantastic that yet another "green" company will be based here in the Denver area. RES-Americas is a renewable wind energy company and already has offices in Elbert and Lincoln counties. 70 employees will relocate to Denver from Austin and 70 more will be hired here for the Denver corporate office. denver go green: Living in Denver, CO: "7,000 Trees in 7 Days" - 04/18/07 11:43 PM
I am into Earth Day this year. Really into Earth Day. Why? Well for a lot of reasons, but the most important is because my kids are into it. They have been fixated in the last few months on all types of environmental issues,as we all should be, and they have decided that we are all really making a difference for Earth Day this year. So living in the Denver area, I have been on the search for some Earth Day related activities that will make a difference. Here's is one I found that is definitely worth passing on. "7,000 Trees

denver go green: Living in Colorado: Earth Day Celebration at the Denver Zoo - 04/13/07 03:43 PM
Party for the Planet at the Denver Zoo If you are new to Denver, or just have never been to the Denver Zoo, I would highly recommend attending the Party for the Planet to celebrate Earth Day. Held throughout the weekend April 21 - 22 from 10 am - 5 pm. Special Events & demonstrations will occur throughout the day and should be fun for the whole family. My own children are particularly interested in seeing the demonstration that shows us how to identify different types of wildlife by the tracks and other signs that are noticeable. The Denver Zoo
