denver restaurants: Snooze at Southglenn - 02/27/11 10:54 PM
Originally posted on my Denver Real Estate Blog
This morning my family took my wife to breakfast and she choose Snooze.  While the kids & I had never been, she had once.
Snooze is one of the latest restaurants at The Street of Southglenn – but you would never know it as the crowds are fierce.  We arrived at 8 am and waited about 40 minutes for a table.  I can’t say I have ever waited that long for breakfast before but it was certainly worth it.

The menu had all sort of clever names and descriptions.  Apparently the … (5 comments)

denver restaurants: Living in Lone Tree - Great Mexican Food at Rio Grande - 07/19/08 09:38 AM
Last weekend we decided to eat out and everyone wanted Mexican food, so we decided to head over to Rio Grande in Lone Tree. There is also another one in Denver- its actually in LoDo not far from Coors Field.  But for this dinner out we stayed closer to home.
The Rio Grande has been one of our favorites since the Lone Tree location opened - the chips & salsa are great and everything else on the menu is fabulous too.  It is also one of the place I recommend checking out when the first move to the Denver area.

denver restaurants: Very Busy - But Still Time For Colorado Fun - 04/11/08 05:27 PM
The last 2 weeks have been very busy business-wise for me - which is great for me and great for you.
Why great for you?
Because that means if I am busy it must not be all gloom and doom in the Denver real estate market like many seem to be thinking.  Is it great?  No.  But there is activity and homes are selling.
In any case, I haven't been able to post as many blogs lately - busy sometimes means not being at the keyboard as much.

I did take a much needed time out last weekend to … (20 comments)

denver restaurants: Living in Denver - Mother's Day Dining - 04/11/08 12:32 PM
Last year I posted a list of idea for Mother's Day Dining Out in the Denver area.  I have been asked, especially by those that have recently moved to Denver, if I am going to post something this year as well.  I was actually surprised, not really realizing as many people were reading my blog.  Here is the link to last year's post about it, as the restaurants I noted there would still be great picks.
Here are a few more suggestions.
I recently wrote about the new shops in the Landmark Village area in Greenwood Village.  Several of the restaurants … (2 comments)

denver restaurants: February is Home of Denver Restaurant Week - 02/07/08 09:01 AM
A fantastic annual event is set to start in February 2008 - Denver Restaurant Week : "A Seven Day Celebration of Denver's Culinary Scene".    All over the Metro area, participating restaurants will take reservations and offer wonderful multi-course dinners for a set price of $52.80 for two.  All of the fixed menus for each Denver restaurant is listed online as well.   I announced this event here last year as well.
A few of the Denver restaurants participating on the list this year that I have enjoyed in the past are:  Barolo Grill (Denver), 240 Union (Lakewood) , Brooks Steak … (4 comments)

denver restaurants: A New Santoro's Pizza For The South Denver Suburbs - 01/22/08 11:29 PM
My wife kept telling me how great the new Safeway is at Broadway & Mineral in Littleton.  If you asked her a year ago if she would have shopped at this new Safeway - her answer was no!  She was not at all happy about Tony's Market leaving this location that was so close to our home.
Fast forward a year later, I have actually heard her bragging about how much she loves the new Safeway.   Fresh peanut butter bar, Gelato station, manned Coffee bean station,  - the list goes on & on.  I know their has been some reluctance … (5 comments)

denver restaurants: Living in Denver, Wash Park Grille - 10/20/07 11:41 AM
Denver Homes &  Living in Denver - Denver Restaurants -  Wash Park Grille
If you are looking for a fun, delicious, well established Denver restaurant, without going all the way downtown - I would recommend checking out Washington Park Grille, more well known as Wash Park Grille.  Located on south Gaylord street just a bit north east of Wash Park, its long been a Denver local favorite.
Their mostly Italian menu has a local flavor to it, and its a great blend of steak, chicken, pasta and seafood.  We have been eating here for years and it seems to always be a … (2 comments)

denver restaurants: Where Are You Going To Watch the Rockies Game 4 Tonight? - 10/15/07 03:29 PM
The way I see it, everyone in town is going to be watching the Rockies tonight (and let's face it - even those that aren't that into this will most likely still be flipping back and forth just to see) and we all have several of the same options.
1.  You could go to the game.  If you have tickets that is.  Of course, technically, the game is sold out.  You could still try your luck at Craigslist or just call some brokers I suppose, but prices are handsome for the game if you can even find what you want.  If you do go, … (6 comments)

denver restaurants: In Search for Great Mexican Food - Los Dos Potrillos - 10/06/07 06:55 PM
If you live in Highlands Ranch, western Centennial or Littleton - or anywhere else nearby - here is a great find for you when craving salty chips, yummy margaritas and smothered burritos - Los Dos Potrillos.  Located in a somewhat hidden location in a Centennial strip mall (just on the other side of County Line Road from Highlands Ranch) - Los Dos Potrillos has surprisingly great food at reasonable prices.
If you are heading out on the weekend, be prepared to wait a bit or you can call ahead to put your name on the list - but even a wait … (4 comments)

denver restaurants: Denver Real Estate - Why Do I Write About Local Businesses? - 09/23/07 03:01 PM
I received a wide variety of inquiries this week, both by phone and email - regarding why I sometimes blog about local events and businesses outside of Denver Real Estate and would I be willing to write about local businesses for compensation.  The answer is really in 2 parts.
First, when someone is going to relocate to Denver, they generally are coming in blind.  For the most part, they are starting from scratch, and I have always received a huge inquiry as to what my favorite restaurants are, what malls are great, where is the best place to go downtown, etc.

denver restaurants: Living In Highlands Ranch: The Old Blinking Light - 06/12/07 04:11 PM
Highlands Ranch Restaurants - The Old Blinking Light Kitchen & Cocktails
A few weeks ago, we had some company in town and it was an extremely busy week-end.  We wanted to pick out a great restaurant that was close by, but still offered something unique and different.  Living in an area that does have its fair-share of chain restaurants - it is such a refreshing change to dine at a restuarant like The Old Blinking Light.
The atmosphere is great - we dined inside - but there is also a terrific patio complete with a fire pit that will be ideal for … (0 comments)

Some Mother's Day Dining Options in Denver, CO
If you are looking for something a little fancier than every day dinning, it is not too early to make reservations for Mother's Day Dining.  In fact if you don't do so soon, you'll be waiting in line for a walk-in table (if they even have any) - which isn't pretty on Mother's Day!
If you are new to the Denver Area, here are a few suggestions of some of my favorite places for a special celebration.  I have separated them into my own suggestions for Brunch or Dinner, but several of them serve both.

Denver Restaurant WeekSteve ScheerDenver Real Estate
So often I will have a Denver real estate client that relocates to Denver and will ask me many questions about the local area.  Steve, Where does your wife get her hair cut?  Who cleans your carpets?  And where do you go to eat?  Well, its no secret that Denver restaurants have claimed a voice of their own & we have attracted some of the top chefs in the country to open shop in Denver.
So, how do you decide where to go when there are so many to choose from.  There are the … (1 comments)
